Cake made for an Opening party of the movie Prom Night. RI tiara, BC icing with fondant drapes, and flowers. First time making drapes and my fondant wasn't not cooperating today! All in all I like the way it turned out. Also first tiered cake I have made that was raised. I used mini wine glasses in between the top layers.

Thank you so much to Jennifer Dontz (jennifermi) for graciously allowing me to copy her gardenia cake design. It's not nearly as beautiful as the original but I am happy with it. This was for a surprise celebration for a couple who got married at city hall.

This was a small tasting cake for a wedding. I have not done any wedding cakes yet (have my rist july 12) so I try to decorate my tasting cakes to show the bride some design I thought of. Well, this cake turned in to a real nightmare as the raspberry mousse filling was to soft and broke through the bc damm. I tried to poke it back in but just had to give up and put the mmf on eventually anyway. Covered it up with a pink mmf ribbon an drape. You can see the bulging in the photo, but the bride still loved it!

I was asked to make a dummy wedding cake for a film shoot. Not a style of cake I particularly like but it had to fit the brief given to me. Worst part about it was they called late Friday afternoon and wanted it by Sunday! I used dumy cake bases covered them in sugar paste icing and the roses are moulded sugar paste.

I made this cake for our family reunion. It was WASC with lemon filling. The stars and drape were made from MMF. I painted the stripes on the drape with food coloring mixed with extract. This was my first time to make a drape.

14/12/10/8 rounds, all white with buttercream (zzzzz) all fondant. The cake was designed from her dress which was champagne colored, had the pleated wraps around the bodice, and corset tied down the back. The roses were really dark burgundy to match a swatch.

I actually did this as our two year anniversary cake. It's a replica of the top of our wedding cake, except I made the flowers instead of our topper.

My second wedding cake, inspired by a cake from Carriescakes. The tiers are 6", 9", and 12". I wasn't very happy with the bow, but the bride loved it and that's what matters.

Bottom tier is a dummy, 3 remaining tiers fruit cake covered with marzipan and sugar paste icing with sugar paste draping detail. Fresh bright pink gerberas, purple freeshas and a bright purple orchid. This was a serious rush job - only had 4 days to complete.

This was made for a man's 90th birthday; he is retired from the Air Force and had flown a B-47 Stratojet in WWII, so his niece asked me to incorporate those elements into the theme. I found a die cast model of the exact plane he flew and used that as a topper. 6", 9" & 12" rounds decorated in butter cream with fondant stars and drape. First time for fondant drape; it was tricky and had a few flaws, but overall I think it came out ok. TFL!

Had to learn swags cause I had two wedding cakes in one weekend with them on it. This was the second cake, and these swags came out much better than the first one. I mixed MMF/gumpaste which worked fantastically. Otherwise BC, synthetic flowers.

BC iced paisleys offset a bit for they wanted the topper on the bottom layer, not the top... ivory drapes and gumpaste flowers (purchased) and accented with some lavender dust and some salmon centers on the smaller flowers.... It was the center of a set of three cakes... three tiers in the center and a two tier on either side... this was still in the fridge when I snapped the picture....
