I tried my best to remake a cake originally posted by TheSweetestThingCS. A friend's daughter saw her cake and asked for one for her twin sons' first birthday. She also asked for individual smash cakes for the boys so I made the 4" Thing 1 and Thing 2 cakes for them. Butter cake for all tiers except the hat. The hat is RKT covered in buttercream icing and fondant. Thing 1 and 2 are fondant with a little tylose powder added. The teapot and ball are made with gumpaste.

I've seen many Dr. Seuss cakes here on CC but I have to thank meghanb for the most inspiration on the green eggs and ham. I cheated on the ham... it was rice crispy treats covered in cream cheese icing and then fondant. Oh my goodness cream cheese icing tastes wonderful on the rice crispies. Any way the sad looking cat hat was oatmeal pies stacked and iced with chocolate frosting...(Awesome) It worked in a hurry and for family:)

A Dr. Seuss themed bouquet, based on the book: "Oh The Places You'll Go." This was my first cookie bouquet and I ran into quite a few problems, but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Thanks for looking!

1st birthday topsy turvy. All of the characters were free hand drawn with edible markers then painted with thinned royal icing. The hat is cereal treats covered in modeling chocolate and fondant. Swirls are gumpaste. This was fun. Thanks to kats0916 for the design idea/inspiration.

Based on idea from Andrea's Sweet Cakes on Flickr. Kind of "Dr. Seuss-ish" :) All decadent chocolate with chocolate ganache buttercream. It's rather large, sitting on a 16" cake base, can't remember the size of the square, but the center tier is 8"

For a Dr. Seuss themed baby shower, a WASC cake, buttercream and fondant. Gumpaste mixed with fondant decorations. My first topsy-turvey like cake! A few problems with smoothing out the fondant on the second tier, but on that hot, humid day I was lucky to get it on there at all! :0) Very fun!! :0) TFL!

This is the very first cake I've ever made that was frosted outside of the pan - so first time making a tiered cake and using MMF. I watched lots of you-tube videos and read some great tips on here to help me tackle this cake. I had a blast!!! It was a lot of work, but quite addicting. Thanks for looking

12" chocolate, 10" Yellow and 5 layers (3 white, 2 chocolate) with buttercream and MMF. White Chocolate The Cat in The Hat letters. Painted by hand with vodka and gel coloring. Will never do this cake again!!!!!! Was not happy with it as it gave me so much trouble. Had to add a dowel on site because it was SOOOO windy...helped me about RUIN the cake. You should see my 1st attempt at the hat! SAD!

I was so excited to do this cake! I love the whimsy of Dr. Seuss. The cake was supported by a wooden dowel which was screwed into the wooden cake board. My husband was so sweet to do it for me without any hesitation. I know this cake would have probably ended up a disaster without his help. It consists of (4) 6" round cakes. The bottom 3 were doweled for additional support and in between the cakes were cake boards just a little smaller than the actual cakes and with a hole in the middle which allowed the main support dowel to run through it. I iced it in butter cream, then covered with 2 large strips of fondant along the diameter and topped off with a circle on top. Instead of coloring the actual fondant red, I decided to paint it by mixing a little vanilla, water and red gel coloring. Then, I added white strips of fondant which hid the seams of the red fondant. The fish bowl is made of rice crispies and all other decor is made with 50/50 gumpaste and fondant. Thing 1 and Thing 2 had royal icing hair. So that is that. Hope this will inspire you.
