This is the cake I made for my youngest DD's 16th b-day. Bottom-10" chocolate filled/iced with hot pink vanilla BC; top-8" yellow filled and iced with electric blue vanilla BC. Dots all fondant and the board was covered with white fondant with pink and blue fondant dots. I should have had a bigger board because once I put the bottom layer on the board you couldn't really see the dots. The kids at the party thought it was fake; they didn't realize it was actually edible but they gobbled it up!!

This is a cake modeled from one here on CC by cakesbyallison. The bride and groom were having a 'black and white' wedding, so they requested black pearls. The best I could do was 'moonstone' pearls. This really wasn't my best effort. I hate buttercream.

My first ever wedding cake! It's made with dummies as I did it for class, but everything else is real.

All layers covered in pink tinted fondant, piped dots using royal icing, hand-painted dots with gold luster dust, daisies made with gumpaste. Plus I got to play with the airbrush by spraying luster dust on the fondant, too! FUN!

I used the four tier acrylic cake stand. 6" choc., 8" white, 10" white, and 12" choc. Each cake is a different design. I painted the "F" with gold luster dust and did swiss dots. (my first time to use luster dust!! Very exciting!) 8" was the diamond impression mat, 10" was swirls, and the 12" I was running out of ideas so I did vertical lines. Accented with fresh mums.

This is the cake i just completed. The theme for the clients party is dots so she wanted a cake with the brand name dots candy (tropical flavor) on it. very fun!!! The problem was the dots were so heavy they kept sliding down the side of the cake! aggghh! but, in the end it all turned out. She was thrilled with the cake and that is all that matters. it is a white sour cream/pudding cake with raspberry filling. The top dome is covered in fondant the rest is buttercream (by request).

This is my first girly birthday cake. Most of the cakes I do are for boys! This was taken before I added a fondant plaque of Pooh bear. Frosted in buttercream and everything else is MMF.

Thought this would look better when set up but it really didn't, so just posting this one. This one ended up cracking a bit during a bumpy transport, hoping it survives the wedding on the little plastic table they provided.

I did this cake for my own birthday. I am a HUGE fan of Polka dots. It is a 4 layer cake, alternating white cake with pineapple cake. All decorations are BC dots.

So this was originally going to be a mad hatter style cake...until my practice run split in two...thankfully, the bride was willing to go flat round with just the funky design...marble cake w/choc BC then covered in MMF. Wrapped lollipop sticks with curling ribbon (was the only ribbon I could find in the right colors since I procrastinated lol) and double stick tape, then stuck the MMF stars right on top. Decorated the table with extra MMF stars. From what I've heard, the bride & groom loved it! :)

First wedding cake mishap in 6 years..still sick to my stomach. Cake was for a friend, who, luckily was very understanding. Cake got too hot, buttercream started cracking & sliding (weight from fondant ribbons didn't help). Lots & lots of repairs done standing in a walk-in freezer for 15 minutes to help the icing set back up. Let's just say, the fresh flowers saved me from "most" of my imperfections. The lillies were only supposed to be on the top and cascading down side. Learned a lot from this one!

This was my very first wedding cake 6 years ago. Needed some reassurance from the cake mishap I had on Saturday that I posted earlier, so I started looking at all of my old cake pictures and found this one I forgot to post. This cake is iced smooth with buttercream. Buttercream swiss dots. Accented with fresh flowers.

I wanted to try something different so I did the half cake on another cake. It turned out ok but nothing great. The girl I made it for thought it was adorable. It was chocolate and lemon with buttercream icing. The blocks and rattle are not edible.

I took the inspiration from the invitation as well a a variety of polka dot cakes I've seen posted on Cake Central. Its a vanilla cake with chocolate cream cheese filling frosted with butter cream with just a tad of almond extract. And of course the polka-ducks(as my nephew calls them) are marshmallow fondant. For the first time I am actually happy with my cake! I still see all the flaws etc, but I feel pretty satisfied.

This cake really should have been done in fondant but the couple wanted buttercream. I was disappointed that I couldn't get the buttercream to look more smooth but I gave it my best shot.

My largest wedding cake yet. Easier than I thought it would be. White cake w/raspberry filling on 1st & 3rd tiers. Fresh roses. The wall behind was burnt orange and totally clashed w/the red. My Mom took liberty and I used more of the tulle from the table and made some panels & drapes and it really softened it and made it blend better.

This was a little girl's 2nd birthday cake. I made sure "Swiper" was trying to get a piece of cake for himself. 9" chocolate and 6" white almond sour cream stacked- good ol' snow white buttercream colored in bright colors. These are purchased Dora figurines. They loved it!

I made this for a friend's wedding. 16,12,and 8 inch size cakes. Fondant bows, swiss dots, free-handed scroll work and reverse shell border. Lots of time went into planning this cake, and I think that it came out great.

Last minute birthday cake done with buttercream icing and buttercream dots. The letters are from sugarveil icing and were not fun to work with. Turned out pretty cute though I think!
