My niece helped me make this cake for her best friend's surprise Sweet 16 party. We were originally going to do the dot/harlequin/stripe pattern, but decided to go all-dots to match the invitations we made. Our only hitch was that we didn't use enough dowels, and as time went by the bottom two tiers began to collapse and the fondant bunched up. BUMMER! But it was still cute and her friend was happy and that's what it was about! :)

I didn't care for the way this turned out. We were pretty rushed in class trying to get it done. I do like the colors pink, black and white though.
I didn't want to put the dots on the ribbon but one of my fellow students touched the ribbon with her finger that had food coloring on it. Since I didn't have time to redo the cake I just threw some dots on.
Working with fondant was fun and I think I will remake the gift box cake but spend more time on it.

I made this cake for a 12 year old girl's birthday. She wanted "funky" flowers and polka dots. The dots are color flow and the daisies are royal. Iced in buttercream.

A surprise for the bride & groom....for their picnic rehearsal dinner with red & white checkered tablecloths; left the design up to me so I played off the red & white. Triple chocolate cake and marble layers with black cherry BC filling. BC with royal icing dots and hearts, fondant ribbon and hearts on wire painted with white pearl dust. Traveled 2 hours in horrible humidity, so the 'cloud' under the hearts on top fell, and then was assembled by my friend. They loved it despite minor imperfections!

14", 10" & 6" rounds with BC icing & roses. By far the biggest and heaviest cake I have done. Over 70 roses. My hand was killing me and towards the end I was melting the icing my hands were so hot. I started dunking my hands in ice water trying to cool them down!!! lol

Made for a birthday to match the invitations. Chocolate cake w/chocolate fudge filling; bc and chocolate icing. This was my first loop bow - I made it way too big, and also learned it would have been much easier to do the whole bow the same color! I ended up embellishing the top with bc to hide the flaws. Green ribbon was given to me by the customer to add to the bow. There is also a #12 made out of fondant on a wire to be stuck in the top later.

This is one tier of a wedding cake. I didnt' get a picture of it all set up because the bride took it to the site which was 45 minutes away, but they stacked this on glass blocks and put lights under it. There was a 6 in round and a 12 in round and this was an 8 in square

I made this for my son's 1st birthday. I got the idea from several different users...so thanks to all!!! It was supposed to have the carved/angled sides, but I chickened out at the last second. BC with fondant accents, choco cake on top and white cake on the bottom. BC and marbled smash cake.

I made this cake for some friends of mine that got married on Valentines day. They traveled into the Black Hills some 6 hours away. Didn't do too bad considering. There is a close up already in my pictures, but I like the finished product better. Thanks for looking! :-)

First time doing lots of layers! FIrst time trying chocolate drizzle and first time using the chocolate Bettercream! First picture uploaded!

8 layers of cake, 5 chocolate, 3 yellow cake. Alternating fillings of regular Bettercream, chocolate Bettercream and cherry filling. The cake was so tall the chocolate dots on top of the rosettes stuck to the lid of my cake carrier. Had lots of fun with this one!

The swirls on top started out as a way to cover up a mistake and evolved from there.

The more and more I do cakes I've realized that every single one seems to have some sort of dots on it. I guess it is becoming my signature. I did this one just for fun today. Hope you all like it. I felt the need to pick myself up after the awful Bratz cake I did last week.

Birthday cake for a 13 yr. old girl. Her mom sent a sketch of what they wanted (I love having pictures to look at). I think it turned out pretty well. The wire I used in this picture for the stars was too heavy. I changed to a smaller gauge and that worked much better.
Cake is chocolate, buttercream frosting with fondant accents.

Heres another one. I decorated these with the lillies on top and each tier had a different design. I wanted each cake to look different but have the same effect.

The cake is a three tier stacked cake with beautiful silk flowers for the design. It was simple but the flowers make it special.

I had fun doing this cake. It has daisies made from royal icing and the dots are actually candy dots that peel right off the paper. It is a white cake with buttercream frosting.

MMF over cakes and to create the initial "E". Lace mold on 2 layers to "duplicate" her gown and simple swiss dots in RI on 2 layers finished base off with a fondant "ribbon". Brushed the "E" and swiss dot layers in luster dust. I arranged the flowers to compliment her shade of orange with mini roses and white lilies. I made this cake for my co worker's sister--they all wanted to know why she asked me to bring a "fake" cake:). Thank you tbittner &prettycakes (CC) for help with the lace mold--my 1st!

Stressful cake!!!! This was for my boss's parents 50th anniversary!!! ...to only feed 60 ppl!!!!!! 6" and 10" chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and fondant stripe. 8" and 12" white cake with chocolate frosting dots. I have never made a cake this big. I was already nervous about doing this for my "Boss"! But to add the fact that she told me Wednesday what she wanted and the party was Saturday!!! NOT MUCH TIME!!!
