For my third and final class project cake which was for the Wilton Level 3 Fondant and Gum Paste Course, I created a fun and colorful present cake. I baked a 2-layer 8" white cake, filled and iced with homemade Swiss meringue buttercream, and placed it on a board I decorated with pink Wilton fondant the week before. In cake class, I covered my cake with green Duff's fondant, added colorful polka dots and a border, and topped it off with a matching pink gum paste bow I pre-made. I took the cake to church and the cake was so popular that not only was every morsel consumed, but tears were shed among the kids who missed out. I received a myriad of compliments as well. And most importantly, I had fun and learned a lot! (inspired by a design from cc user cib)

Cakes are 6" & 8" with the half ball "hat" on top. This cake was covered in fondant with fondant decorations. The bow & ears were hand made out of gum paste. The customer requested the bottom cake be sky blue instead of white. TFL!

Lemon cake. Covered in fondant. Saw this similar cake made by Kami_cakes, loved it so much had to make it for my GF's 50th too. Thanks Kami for sharing it. Loved making this cake. took a lot of patience attaching those "disc" shapes. Enjoyed making the shoe. thought it looked cute.

The colors of the wedding are orange and purple. The bride is my niece and when I think of her I think of things more whimsical and "flower power". I tried to create a cake that was more reflective of her personality than related to a wedding.

I found this idea in a Valentine's card. The wolf actually says: "Sorry I tried to eat you" , isn't this cute??? collage idea was taken from Buns in the oven- absolutely beautiful page. I just wanted to play and learn how to use inkscape. It is also my first attempt to try bi-dimensional technique. Hope you all like it!!!

Ivory swiss dot wedding cake, with ivory cosgrain ribbon, dotted border and handmade sugar roses. The mini cake was a gluten free cake for the bride, who had a wheat allergy.

A special cake for my mum who loves bright colours. I coloured the past in electric light and, personally, would have preffered them to be a little more subtle. Lesson learned - daylight is best.

Round 9x6 cake topped with ladybug in 5 inch dome cake and fondant head. All other decorations are fondant. Red velvet cake, vanilla bean smbc filling and ganache under fondant.
