This is the first star point cake I did. It was for a friend. It turned out better than I thought it would.

Sandcastle cake. I used a cooked white frosting, covered by crushed graham crackers. Marshmellows moistened with water and covered by crumbs also. Crackers for the door and bridge, and a fruit roll-up for the water. Sea shells made out of white and chocolate almond bark for decoration. The graham cracker dried out the frosting and gave it a bit of a crunch! It was good all over!

Sheet cake with bright green BC icing. Made the stars with fondant couples days in advance. Went to http://www.nickjr.com/party/cake_finder/index.jhtml for Dora's face. Printed it out and then xerox'd it using "mirror image" so it would be backwards to use for me pipe it and then lay it on cake. Then I used star tip. Pretty easy. Dora's face just took a while because so many stars in different colors.

My first FBCT. A slight miscalculation in the dimensions of my cake pan meant that the FBCT was too wide for the cake, so Dora's 'hair' is draped slightly down one side! Luckily it curved nicely round the side of the cake as it defrosted and didn't brake off!

This was for my daughter's 3rd birthday and my first attempt at decorating a shaped cake. It took me all day! Does decorating get quicker with practice?

I made this cake for a now ex-friend who complained that my design was horrible (this is not even my design it's Wiltons') and that charging her $20 CDN for this cake was WAY too high when all I was trying to do was give her a deal because she said she was broke. I believe this cake is worth way more than $20 and in the 10 yrs that I've been baking she was the only one to complain but that will not stop me from my favourite hobby.

This was one of the first character cakes that I had done. It was made using the piping gel technique and filling it in with stars. The cake itself is a little irregular shaped, but I think that the Dora turned out good.

This is a CCC w/Dora BCT. I'm not satisfied w/the transfer, but don't have time to re-do it. I think the kids (2-4 y/o's) will be happy with, even if I'm not.

My daughter made three requests for her birthday. She wanted a Dora cake, she wanted it to be pink, and she wanted it to have candles.
This was the first time I have tried a chocolate transfer. I like it.
The cake was white was raspberry cream cheese filling.
