I think it turned out okay, considering I only had an hour to decorate the cakes before people came over (time mix up: ahhh!)

I made this for my daughter's second birthday. It was my first attempt at a stacking. Everybody loved it. It is a strawberry pecan cake with fresh strawberries in between layers. I was afraid to try fondant because our party guests were the sort who would be more impressed with a funny-looking yummy cake than a smooth looking less tasty cake. So, I used a mix of marshmallow fluff and cream cheese (basically fruit dip) to frost it, and though it was a little shiny, it was absolutely delicious! :)

This is my Dora the Explorer waterfall cake. This is a half sheet, 8", and 6" pan. For the trees, I used big pretzel sticks and the grass tip. For the water, I tinted clear piping gel.

I kind of used several cakes I viewed on here to give my customer a truly unique cake. Piping gel made the water, vanilla wafer crumbs made the path. I bought the figured at Big Lots.
