This was a cake I made for my fiance's friend. Her grand daugther just turned 2 and she loves Dora. All the figures where made with fondant. The cake was covered in marshmallow fondant. That was the first time I have ever made marshmallow fondant, and I have to say I like it alot more than the regular fondant.

I used fondant to cut out the head and face, butter cream to ice, and fondant for the flowers. The flowers were just cut from the small and medium Wilton Daisy cutters, nothing extra done to them.

I used 3 small oval cakes, stacked and carved. All fondant covered with fondant accents. The map (on how to get to the party) is a peice of fondant with the edible markers , so you can still eat it if you so desire. I love how it turned out! My daughter was very excited for it (its for her 4th birthday) TFL!!

Used the Dora pan. Smoothed the icing with damp paintbrushes, rather than using the star tip.

All decorations, map (and mini map) and stars are made of fondant. Dora and boots are little toys. The idea of this is a map to the birthday party... "River... Garden..... BIRTHDAY PARTY!!" Haha :) The name is rolled fondant.
