1/2 Sheet Buttercake with almond buttercream, baked for a little gir's December birthday. Color is air-brushed. I decided to use red and green in the spirit of the Christmas Holiday season. The children loved Holiday Dora!

Butter cake recipe. I baked the cake in a doll baby pan and then drew the Dora design freehand. The skin was caramel icing. The colors were mixed from liquid food coloring.

Inspired by Sugarshack's 3-tiered design. Covered in fondant and airbrushed. Edible image plaque characters. Totally forgot to make the "2" ahead of time, so had to run out and buy an alternative at a party store. ;-)

A client asked me to do a small tiered Dora cake for 10-12 kids. This is what I came up with. I quoted her $50 and then got way too carried away and made it way bigger than I wanted, spent way too much time on it and ended up losing money...but they liked it, so I was happy. I have to find a way to stop undercharging!! any advice?? all is edible except dora

Happy 2nd Birthday Ellie!
6" - 3 layer Red Velvet Dora the Explorer cake tops this cupcake stand with matching vanilla cupcakes. Purchased the candied Dora heads for the cupcakes, cupcakes topped with buttercream, everything else is SI fondant. Cupcake stand is Wilton's Sweet Server - styro foam and not very sturdy. Supposed to be able to reuse but we will see if it holds up. It was wiggling under the weight of the topper cake.

Vanilla cake, blueberry filling, iced in vanilla buttercream frosting. Dora's face is a frozen buttercream transfer. (FBCT) Cake was a 14" round that I carved a bit to take the shape of the outline of Dora's face.

This is a personal cake that I did for my sister-in-law's niece. Shw is a Boots fan from Dora the Explorer. I wasn't sure if I could replicate Boots, but I think he came out alright. Cake is dipped in candy melts.
