Little girl wanted a "dog" cake. I came up with this because they are going to a glamour type shop for her birthday party, and are getting dogs to dress up as well. All buttercream with gumpaste and wire springy balls.

Had this cake and parents anniversary to make for the same day.It is supposed to be a bassett hound, had 3hrs. to bake, and decorate cake, so it could have been better with more time.I used the duck pan for this dog, cut to strips about 1 inch, for the paws, cut small strips of MMF and rolled into shape for the toenails(then polished). Used MMF for ears, spots , tail and eyes. Was supposed to be a brownish red, but for some reason, it looked black, Go figure, I used brown coloring.

I made this cake for my daughter's birthday. I got the idea from another cake here on cake central (only it was a horse and individual size). The two puppies are made from mmf. Got distracted when doing the lettering and totally spaced the "h" in birthday. So I just squeezed it in there. Made me feel like a dork though. :)

My first time making fondant! This is a combination cake for my MIL and FIL- MIL loves scotty dogs, and FIL loves the Minnesota Vikings (hence the purple and yellow). The trim of the cake is purple and yellow fondant balls, and there are also 2 fondant footballs that you can't see.

This is a vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The puppy dog is FBCT. This picture is before writing the Happy Birthday message, which is why there is a blank space below the dog on the cake.

This was another cake for my niece. I had no idea I could freehand until I did her Elmo cake the year before. This was long before any decorating classes, that's why the bc isn't smooth and even.

Made for my bosses daughter named Sammy. Dog is constructed from multiple half round cakes and mini loaves. The "rug" is basketweave, only its been 7 months since I did basketweave for the first and only time, that I had completely forgotten. After 25 minutes I finally figured it out.

This is one of my very first cakes years ago. My husband told me I was in charge of making the cake, one that looked like our friends dog, as a gag party. I was terrified that it would turn out embarressingly awful, yet to this day it remains one of my all time favorites. buttercream and coconut pecan with chocolate detail.

This was my first carved cake, and my first time using MMF. I made this for my son's 2nd birthday. I wanted to get the cat and dog in there because he's a little nuts for animals!! Hand-carved white and decadent chocolate cakes with buttercream icing. MMF animals, stars and smokestack. Popcorn "smoke", oreo wheels. SO FUN!!!
