This was my first effort at MMF. I made this cake, the Spider-man buttercream transfer and the Thomas cake all in the same 24 hour period for my kids' combined birthday party. Belle was made using layer cake pans and a bowl with the Belle doll stuck in. The polka dots were cut out using a large tip and then replaced with more tinted MMF cut outs.

This was one of my first few cakes...I made it for my daughters 1st birthday. Not sure why those black spots are there, they weren't there in person, or atleast not so noticable :)

The little girl who wanted this cake wanted Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty on her cake so what I did was make a hand painted plaque for each and then placed it onto the cake.

This was for a neighbor's retirement from the military and moving onto the next job. He loves doing all sorts of handy things around the house, hence the Handy Manny idea. The cake is 1 Chocolate 11x15 and 1 Yellow 11x15 cut in half and stacked. All buttercream with Bavarian Creme filling.

This is a completely edible birthday cake for my second youngest daughter's 4th birthday. Cake covered in BC. Sanding sugar (sand), white chocolate shells (the lg. one on top too) brushed with Luster dust, white chocolate turtles, coral, and letters. Fondant Ariel, Flounder, trumpet fish, Sebastian (my husband's contribution), and red fish (my 5 yr. old daughter's contribution). This was my first attempt at making figures from fondant. My daughter was happy! Thanks to jbfranco for the inspiration!

First attempt at anything "Cars" related -- not clever enough to actually make a car cake, so this was the best I could do... vanilla cake with buttercream icing - made for my friends little boys' 2nd birthday.

All buttercram with buttercream transfers n top and edible image strips along the sdes. All together there were 28 different cartoon characters on this cake! I wish I had my digital camera back then so the detail would show up well. 35mm Just didn't capture all the hard work that went into this one.

I did this for my daughter's 9th birthday. It is all in buttercream with cake sparkles added for that "fairydust" look. I thought that the eyes looked a little scary, but she was happy. Thanks for looking.

Didn't come out quite like I wanted, the humidity was unreal, it's been raining here everyday for a month, so I had to keep making sure the icing would not slide off! This was done with Crusting Cream Cheese, which I never have had problems with before, could it have been the new shortening?? Fondant stars and shells, luster dusted.

my soon to be 4yr old son requested a DOC HUDSON Cake, since he loves the Cars movie. I used a 13x9 white Pils. Cake and I halfed the cake then torted it. Granted its not the best, but Im happy. This is my practice cake. The real Party cake will be 2 13x9's on top and I will carve it.

Made this for a friend's daughter - Disney princess theme. All fondant decorations (except the tiara and princesses). This was my second fondant cake and second stacked cake. Bottom border should have also been fondant balls, but I got distracted while softening my last bit of fondant in the microwave & ended up melting it! So, I had to improvise! Thanks for looking!

This is a butter yellow cake with buttercream icing. Royal icing flowers w/ buttercream leaves.
This was a practice cake. I definitely have to work on her lips. They came out too big for her little face.

I made this for my friend's daughter. It was a small cake, so the details of Nemo's body were somewhat difficult, but I was happy with the end result. Buttercream frosting.

Took my inspiration for this cake from several cakes on this site as well as the party invitations, decorations, etc. Upon request, this cake is white/chocolate marbled with a strawberry filling. Different, but they liked it. = )
