I made this cake for my daughter's dinosaur birthday party. Two different sized dome cakes stacked, chocolate icing & homemade hard candy for lava. A plastic cup lined w/ foil held dry ice in the center to create the smoke.

This dinosaur cake and a volcanoe red frosting for hot lava--but the big kicker was the dry ice we put in the middle with red food coloring and it came to life (put a little glass dish right in the center)!

I made this one for my sons 7th B-day this year. The cake is chocolate frosted w/ BC and I made a lollipop solution for the volcano lava (so it could stand up). At the end of the black stick coming from the volcano I attached a flying Tarydactal (sp??). The animals are plastic and are now tub toys.

Chris asked me several months ago to make a T-Rex cake for him for his tenth birthday. He wanted it to be eating a brontasaurus, and he wanted it to be bloody. Yuck! But I had fun makeing this cake and cut the T-Rex out of cake, formed it, and used buttercream and fondant. It was a BIG hit. The kids all loved it and so did the parents. The "blood" was made from strawberry jam!

I decided to do a sleeping dino this time. I wanted to make the egg more leathery than hard but it didnt look as good. I decided to put cake truffles around it for the adults.

10 in round butter recipe cake, covered in butter cream with picture hand drawn on. I wasn't too sure about it when I started but I think it turned out okay. It's for a little girl who's turning 5 and loves T-REX

This mom likes me to make a 3D scene on a sheet cake rather than a complete 3D cake. This year her son wanted a spinosaurus...a "realistic" one. I airbrushed the volcano in the back (also a request) but the colors seemed to run some. Oh well. The boy recognized his dinosaur with a big smile and that is what mattered! Mom was happy too.

This cake is for Max. I had a lot of fun making it. I think I filled the sponge cake with caramel mousse and banana whipped cream.

All dinosaurs are hand made in modeling paste. The trees are made in sugar paste.

More of a Dragosaur, because we thought it looked like a cross between a dinosaur and dragon! It's my first dragon cake :) Chocolate cake, buttercream icing and fondant spikes.

This is a cake that I made for my cousin's 6th birthday. It is a full sheet cake. I carved the volcano out of stacked 8 inch cakes. The dinosaurs are plastic toys. The river is covered in piping gel. I thought the grass would take a long time but it actually went pretty quick. The smoke was supposed to be colorflow but due to difficulties I had to use cardboard covered with a thin layer of colorflow. I just finished up the Wilton course 1 a couple weeks ago. Let me know what you guys think!
