I wasn't sure which category to put this under. This was for a Ladies Nite party that featured a fun exercise routine that involved Cabaret-style dancing and a little bit of pole dancing....but all good, clean fun! No stripping involved, I swear!

This is what I came up with for a request for a Camping/Square Dancing/Surprise 80th Birthday Cake for a guy. Half choc., half Banana cake. The trailer is rice crispies, the picnic table is a kit-kat, the flames are starburst, the dancers are gumpaste, and the cooler is fondant.

A simple red cake for a couple who love to dance together. Fondant/gumpaste roses, gumpaste figurine - I printed an image, cut it out with exacto knife, then used it as a stencil to cut the gumpaste. Painted with airbrush black.

Made at Debbie Brown's London Workshop. I really enjoyed making it. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the tube and train trips home... I'll just have to make another!

Ok, here's a strange combo, but I think it works...Apartment warming for a young couple, from Kansas and Mississippi. He likes Star Wars, she-Dancing with the stars. So I've got a dancing Yoda and Leia wearing ruby slippers, the mirror ball trophy, the flowers are my try at magnolias-Mississippi state flower and the pot has "there's no place like home" painted on it. (the Kansas connection). At first I was trying to come up with a nice cozy housewarming as I wasnt given much direction, then I asked for some details and just decided to go over the top with it. As I was doing the dragees my son came in and said"Mom, less is more" one of my favorite sayings when the kids and I are doing crafts...sorry the description is so long.

Choc/Vanilla cake with all fondant accents. People were cut from black fondant/gumpaste combo and let dry. Disco balls were styrofoam and coated in glue then rolled in glitter. For a 50th Birthday Disco celebration. Lots of inspiration from this site and from that web!

This is a 10" and 6" tiers. It is WASC with buttercream and fondant accents. It was decorated with the birthday girls favorite things. She loves to ride horses and loves to water ski and wakeboard so it has a horse on a wakeboard. Her nickname by her family is "the princess", and she loves beauty pagents so it has a crown, she loves her blackberry, she is a huge georgia bulldog fan, loves flip flops, and loves to dance so that is where the striper pole comes in (which was a joke). I suggested the "J" on top being it was all about the birthday girl. Thanks for looking

Cake for Jermaine O'Neal and his wife's birthday. The theme of the party was disco and night life. So I had disc dancers and lights, the downtown skyline with spotlights and limos, and fireworks "shooting " off the top of the cake. Buttercream with fondant and gumpaste accents.

Birthday cake with the "Fred Astaire" dance studio logo made out of fondant... made for 5 ballroom dance instructors. Half vanilla cake with lemon curd filling and the other half vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling. The too-large border actually started to slip off so I had to redo the border and don't have a pic of the actual 'finished' cake... oh well! :-)

I just loved making this cake. It was so fun! Each princess is a cupcake. Three princesses are on the top of a 6" cake and are dancing around a maypole with the birthday girl's name on. Instead of a slice of cake each guest got to eat a princess cupcake, but not many of them wanted to eat them!

This was a disco themed cake for a wee girl who is intolerant to some food colourings, so I used a thin board to create a colourful raised dance floor and kept the cake itself plain.

This should go in the "Disasters" section, really. If it had been a paying client, I would have had to refund her money. It was supposed to be 3 tiers and have a "Maggie". The top tier crumbled into a pile of chocolate crumbs and icing for reasons unknown to this caker. The Maggie broke into 4 pieces when I picked it up to paint it. The ribbon wasn't wide enough to cover all the foamcore. Sigh....my daughter says she loves, it though. I hope it transports ok! Bellydancing hip scarf on top tier with her nickname "Doodle" and the Fleur de Lis represent her fave football team. The bottom tier is representative of Vera Bradley bags, and the border is done like her beloved hula hoop. She loves cats, hence the kitten. Phew! I should mention that she designed it herself,

I made this for a sock hop. It was fun but most of the kids couldn't appreciate the details...they didn't even know what a record was ...very sad. I'm showing my age here.
