Tween birthday cake to match her theme of "Dancing Under the Stars". Plenty of sparkly stuff, they'll love it. LOL. Mostly buttercream, with fondant accents. Not sure I like buttercream with wire accents, not as much stability as fondant, but the birthday girl hates fondant. Hopefully it will be okay.

First time doing this cake. I made black fondant for disco ball and dancers. I paineted the ball with the silver petal dust and then piped white squares on it to look like a ball. Thanks to those that made similar cakes on here and I used some ideas from all of them for this cake.

My birthday cake! This Saturday the new series of Strictly Come Dancing starts on the BBC (what you guys know as Dancing With The Stars), I am a HUGE fan and totally psyched that it starts on my birthday, so of course, my cake this year HAD to be ballroom dancing themed! 6in & 8in lemon cakes filled with lemon curd meringue buttercream and decorated with fondant. Gumpaste topper and chocolate dance shoe.

I made this WASC cake filled w/strawberry and BC covered in MMF for a Christmas EVe party at my good friend's house. I started it about 2 days ago and only today figured out what the theme would be. Susi's (my friend) parties are always lively so I knew music should play a factor in the cake. Growing up during the breakdancing era I wanted to include a few b-boys breakin' on the "ice". The side bar of music is a children's song I used to sing to my babies. Gumpaste & Fondant accents.

This is for my sis and SIL who graduated from HS and college, respectively. The bottom layer is cream cheese fondant with modeling chocolate hippo, and the top is peanut butter-cream with MC penguin. All other accents were fondant. The record playing for the dancing penguin is The Monkees "Auntie Grizelda", one of my sis' favorite songs. The hippo is drinking Starbucks coffee (SIL is a barista) and the Boggle board really spells out "Congrats Dianna" like the paper says... My first effort with MC!
