I made these to take to a Chinese New Year Party. They are heart shaped and assorted flavors. I added a fondant ribbon & daisy. The ribbons are stamped with chinese characters for Love, Happiness, Longevity & Health. I used non-toxic gold for the stamping and the center of the daisies.

I made the flowers from M&M candies since they were the Bday girl favorite candy. Wanted to make it spring-y.

This was my first attempt at Gumpaste flowers on a cake. It was a last minute order, I'm pretty happy with it. I do need some more vibrant colours though!

I made this for a good friend whose favorite colors are pink and brown. The bottom tier is strawberry cake and the top is blueberry. Both are sliced in four layers and filled with cream cheese filling. The cake is iced in BC and the accents are fondant with the exception of the gift tag which is gumpaste. This was sooo much fun but really took a lot of time! Thanks to wcgirl for the inspiration. I need to practice stacked cakes in preparation for my GrandMIL's 100th birthday next month!!!

I bought the gumpaste book and cutter set the other night and taught myself some flowers. :) They aren't the best, but I picked the easy ones so they'd turn out okay. :) I made forget-me-nots, daisies, blue bells and apple blossoms.

SMBC is tricky. Scroll work is hard! (My first time with both.) Most of this cake is the result of mistakes I had to cover! :-) French vanilla cake , carmel cream filling, SMBC frosting, RI flowers, scrolls & writing. I'm going to take a nap now...

I got this idea from the Course 2 book. The first cake I was truly proud of. Still one of my favourites.

This was my final cake for the Wilton Fondant & Gumpaste course. It was a lot of fun to do. I took inspiration for the idea from a cake in the most recent edition of American Cake Decorating magazine.

The client sent me a napkin to use as inspiration for the cake. She wanted the birthday message to looked as if it were being "poured" from the teapot. Does this look as though it was "poured"? I couldn't figure out what else to do! Anyway, 11x15 WASC w/ buttercream icing. Daisies stamped out of mmf. Oh yeah, my 5 year old decided to wipe her spaghetti mouth on the napkin.
