This is a Devil's Food Cake, with chocolate fudge icing. Butter-cream for basket, fondant for flowers, leaves and butterfly.
Thanks first to KHalstead for all her help.
The client suddenly advanced the pick-up time for this one by a day, so I was really rushed. It's not as neat as I would have liked.
This is the first cake of three orderd for a Dutch-Indian wedding.
Thanks for looking.
Karen
P.S. There was no time for the butterfly to dry... the cotton wads are still propping up the wings.

This is a four tiered octagon wedding cake made with buttercream and silk daisies each layer was a different flavour. The first one was white with lemon filling and then chocolate with raspberry filling, then orange cake with white chocolate filling and the bottom was chocolate cake with black forest filling. This was fun and time consuming but it was great to do. It went with the curling rink grooms cake I did. great experience!!

Another cake that I made for my niece's birthday party. My SIL told me the colors/theme of the party plates and napkins, this is what I came up with. Devils food cake with BC. Everyone at the party loved the cake and said it tasted just like oreos.

I made this cake for a 10 year old girl who loves lime green and Volkswagon Bug cars. Her reaction was so great! She started jumping up and down clapping her hands, it was priceless. :)

Bottom layer is white cake, top layer is strawberry cake. The daisies are gumpaste. The rest is buttercream. The circle cake on top is a wagon wheel which represents ninety years of life. One tenth is iced in brown to represent ten years left to living a full century (100).

2 - 10"x3" deep cakes for height. THen iced with dark purple BC. Made white fondant daisies that I placed in an egg carton to get the curve. Then I just stick them all over the sides and top sparatically. Add a yellow dot of BC for the centers. VERY EASY! Weather change wilted my daisies. Daisies were dried and hard when I put them on the cake. The next day for the shower they were wilted. Guess it looks more realistic. haha!

This cake is a 3 tier wedding cake. The tier sizes are 6, 9 and 12 inch. The flowers are made from modelling paste (I think its called gumpaste over there!! I'm from Australia). The centres were dipped in tea leaves. The top and bottom tier had white piping on the sides and the middle one I cut the criss cross effect with a spatula and put silver balls where the lines joined.

A cake I made for my niece's 1st birthday based on a design by Mariak. I wasn't too happy with it...I couldn't get the icing smooth enough and then it cracked too. Oh well. It's iced in buttercream with fondant decorations.

Close-up of the cake topper. Daisies and leaves are fondant, attached to wires with candy melts. I needed to hide where the wires went into the cake (inside a push-in dowel), so I made this fondant plaque. Lettering is with Wilton edible marker.

This was a cake I made for my sisters wedding shower. It was my first tierd cake and my first fondant. It was very stressful. I have never had a lesson and was not really sure what I was doing. Found the MMF recipe on this web site and it tasted great! My sister loved it! I was pretty proud of it myself!

This design is from "Cakerator" here on CC. I'm so NOT creative, so I used all of her ideas to make this one. 2 layer 9x13 marble cake with chocolate buttercream filling and all buttercream frosting. The grass mat & daisy are royal. Photo is an edible image. This cake was FUN FUN FUN to do! The only thing that I didn't like was the royal icing...it was murder piping all of the "grass" on the mat. I think that my hand almost fell off....it was WAY worse than stars! THANK YOU CAKERATOR FOR THE DESIGN!

Made this cake for my Aunt when I found out her birthday was today! Not as nice as I wanted to do....but her b-day just snuck right up on me. Originally inspired by YellowJacket (but hers is so much nicer) I had to try a multi-colored daisy cake. Thanks for looking!
