The traditional gift for the 15 year wedding anniversary is crystal and the flower is the Rose, so that's what I incorporated into this cake. It was vanilla with fresh strawberries and cream filling and covered in vanilla BC. The roses are all BC (which I am about to accept will never turn out smooth) and each scroll was dressed with silver dragees.

14 inch round, buttercream frosted topped w/ thin 8 in round for brim of Fedora, stainless steel bowl used for top of hat and sculpted down- coverd with fondant. Fondant/gumpaste Arc of the Covenant, snakes, Holy Grail, Crystal Skulls, Idols, boulders, map,Indy's Dad's journal and Indy'y whip. The only thing I didn't make is the Indy figure on top- one of my sons fave toys. Used food coloring markers, buttercream, pearl dust and painting for highlights. Had to watch and rewind all Indy movies multiple times to get details right because husband and 3 sons are huge Indy fans and were my biggest critics on this one.

Nerve-wracking cake? Oh YES! This baby stood an enormous 43" tall!
I'm 6 feet tall and I had to strain myself to get the top tier on all the way up there.

The bride's stipulations were that it be sparkly and would have "bling" to it when the lights were low and the candles were lit around it. When I researched the crystal ribbon, I couldn't find anything remotely similar for a reasonable price online. Most out there were $30-$90 per yard....and I needed 6 yards of it! Yikes. Went to my local fabric store and found this clear beaded one (intended for curtains or pillows or something?) for a much more reasonable price. I think it worked pretty well. Found some deep purple sequined ribbon for around each tier too, which matched her colours. She provided the excellent deep purple/green monogram topper from Toppers With Glitz.

Cakes were 6"/8"/10"/12" in Tahitian Vanilla and Red Velvet alternating tiers.

I wish I could have taken a better picture of this cake, but I was in a hurry to get to the party. This was for my daughter who is heading off to college. It's a first purse, shoe, and suitcase cake for me, so please, let me know what you think.
It is covered in MMF. The shoe is made of gumpaste and from a template I got on this site. I had to hand mold the heel. Both the purse and shoe have swarovski crystals on them. Thanks for looking!!

The inspiration came from a magazine pic the bride provided....This cake was so stressful. every rock sugar crystal and handmade pearl was individually glued on this cake. it took hours and hours but in the end the bride was thrilled with it....the top layer is real cake, bottom layers are dummies. any comments or suggestions are welcomed. thanks for looking

I didn't like my original wedding cake (made by a bakery, long before I ever made cakes), so for my 15th anniversary, I recreated it the way I had hoped it would be. It's a 6", 8", 10" on Wilton crystal-look 9" pillars, all buttercream. Thanks for looking. :)

The bottom tier was 20" square! The top and second from the bottom tier had ribbon which matched the icing with a string of crystals hot glued to it. The bride was our girls' babysitter when they were young, so it was a special cake to do for her.

This was all buttercream with royal icing roses. Real ribbon and the topper was crystal. I thought the topper blended in too much and was not very noticable. This was the third one for this weekend. I had 3- 4tiered cakes plus 2 grooms cakes, was a busy weekend.

This is a chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ganache filling and chocolate buttercream icing. The plaques of the Jonas Brothers was a technique I got from Kate Sullivans Book (Kate's Cake Decorating) using royal icing. And I added dragees as an accent I made this for my great niece's 8th birthday. She loves chocolate and the Jonas Brothers. She loved it.

This was actually for a very large fund raising dinner by a charity called Remedies, they provide assistance for children in abusive homes. They have a new logo, which is 3 blades of grass in a circle, and I painted it on a round mirrored tile that is in between the tiers of cake. The colors were a dark steel gray, light grass green, and a darker grass green. Fondant, w/ribbon & crystals. Served 254

5", 8", 11", 14" spice cake with cream cheese pastry filling and caramel buttercream fillings. This was my first 4-tier cake (I'm now on the SPS bandwagon - love it!). Crystal buckle and monogram cake topper. Royal icing scrollwork (I still need practice on that!), edible diamonds in the flower centers (disapointing!), silver dragees and sugar pearls. This was for a huge Baptism celebration - unfortunately, the cake was to be set on the bar of the restaurant so not the best background. Thanks for looking!

My son is in LOVE with Legos right now....especially Indiana Jones. This was made with Legos from the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull set. We had LOTS of fun making it. He placed most of the Legos where he wanted.

6/8/10/12/16, designed to serve approx 300 (at $3.50/serving = $1050, in Indiana). I don't charge extra for simple design elements, like the sugar or the pine cones. Iced in BC, covered in sugar crystals. I used 3 lbs of the crystals, with some leftover. When doing this design, it's best to have too much of the crystals. After I stacked the cakes, I piped a tip #7 line of icing at the base of the tiers, then added more sugar and pressed it in place. An easy way to add this line of sugar was I put the sugar in a disposable piping bag and cut a hole in the end big enough for the sugar to flow thru. Super easy! Pinecones and snowflakes are plastic from Michaels. I got sugar all over the black tablecloth at the venue & while I was trying to clean it off, the venue managers said, "Oh leave it! It looks like snow!" Cool! Luv'd that idea!
