I've made castle cakes before, but this was my first tiara! I used carrielynnfields' wonderful instructions (on the homepage) - thanks Carrie Lynn! Royal icing tiara, dusted with pearl luster dust and silver dragees added. MMF doors, windows, and shutters. Candy melts used on "roofs" of turrets, which are ice cream cones. Everything else is BC. Writing is also dusted with luster dust. Thanks for looking!

Royal icing tiara with pearl luster dust and silver dragees. Thanks again to Carrie Lynn for her excellent tutorial! This was so easy to make, it peeled off the wax paper perfectly with no breakage! Yay! I put it on top of a castle cake I made for my friend's daughter.

My first pillow cake.(thanks for the tutorial!!) Covered with MMF, gumpaste and buttercream. The crown was supposed to be just the gumpaste swirls, but they kept falling apart, so I backed it with a gumpaste/fondant backing cut to size. 10" chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.

My brother called me the night before on this party. I didn't have time to make sure the FBCT was the best. I believe we changed the colors so they were a sports team colors that I don't remember. Had I had more time I would've attempted the actual bottle.

White cake with buttercream under fondant. This was a challenging cake for me, but I think it turned out okay. The fondant kept wanting to slide off even after I used vodka to make it 'stick' to the pillow. The white candy melt tiara was fun to make. I made 2 in case of breakage, and wouldn't you know it, both of them broke! Little girl still loved the cake and it was well worth the effort when I saw her face light up.

Chocolate cake with buttercream icing and 'Duff' roses. My sister bought me the Wilton crown pan and asked me to do this for my niece's 1st birthday. Need more practice with the outlining, but my sis loved it!

I made this cake for my grandmas birthday. I had a disaster time with it!! First, my cake collapsed, so I decided to just use a mix... I freeze it and when I carve it, it gets all mushy, and then I crumb coat it, and I seriously did CRUMB COAT it!! There was crumbs all over the buttercream...she'll forgive me, though!! LOL... Fondant was WAY dry..ARRGH!! In the end, I think it turned out kinda pretty... Tiara is Royal Icing

This was my first royal icing tiara and my first chocolate butterflies. Neither were as hard as I thought they'd be. I'm pretty happy with the cake. I hope the birthday girl is too. :)

I was more of a consultant on this cake than anything. It was a joint effort with my sister with her imagination. For her daughter's birthday, she wanted a pillow cake with a crown on it. We succeeded with the pillow but the crown we made of gumpaste didn't hold up so we laid it down instead of 3D. My niece was pleased with it though. One layer is lemon cake, one layer is strawberry cake and it has Twinkie filling with fondant decorations.

Ivory buttercream with fondant pearls and chocolate brown satin ribbon. The B's are made from Wilton's new fondant and gumpaste letter molds. Behind the B's are plaques made from color flow and royal icing reverse shell border.
The writing is from first Corinthians 13 (the love chapter) and is written in buttercream in several "fonts".

After a long weekend of weddings I had forgotten this order completely and woke up monday and it hit me...so I grabbed 3 prebaked round 10's and went to work, the party was at 2pm. I started at 9 am was done at 11. Not fancy but good for a rush job, I thought.Carved stacked and held with toothpicks and frosted with pale pink BC then topped with three small balls of pink MMF and airbrushed edges a shade darker pink to match the crowns on their invitations. I finished up with a toy sceptre and coach. TFL!

This is the same cake that I have put up before, but with a different color theme. This bride wanted a fall color scheme. Also, the book is covered in fondant this time whereas before it only had a page on the top of gumpaste.
