Cake designed after a rodeo belt buckle, for a girl turning 16. She's a barrel racer, so we incorporated that into the design. All done in buttercream, except some of the details in fondant (painted w/ gold), airbrushed buckle in silver.

This is a cake my sister and I did for our sisters baby shower. It was a cowboy western theme. The barn is made out of Rice Krispie Treats with a graham cracker roof. The animals and tractor are plastic from a farm supply store. The cake board is covered with a bandana with a braided twine boarder.

I did this for my grandpa's birthday and as a practice for a cap order I have coming up. It was fun to do all the details! Lemon cake with vanilla buttercream, everything is done in MMF, beak was gumpaste covered with MMF.
He actually tried to put it on, not realising it was a cake!!!!!!!!!! Classic funny moment!

I combined several great ideas I found in the galleries here at CC to design this cake. 12x18 sheet (white and chocolate) with Wilton star pan on top (strawberry). All buttercream (white almond and chocolate almond). Cow and boots are my first attempt at fondant figures!.

This cake was a vision in my mind. The "8" is chocolate and the "0" is white cake iced in BC and hand carved from a sheet cake. The cactus were done with royal icing. The cake was sprayed red instead of coloring the icing red. I thought this would taste better and it did but I wasn't impressed with the look of the color. I tried to make rope on the bottom of the cake with BC. This was made for his suprise 80th western party. We all wore bandana's and cowboy hats. He was suprised and everyone loved the cake!

This is my first attempt at a Cowboy hat cake. I made this for my dad's birthday.
The little dents you see near the top of the cake are from some guy at the party trying to pick up the hat thinking it was real...

Thank you so much jstritt for this idea! It didn't turn out as good as yours but it turned out ok. I hate whipped topping(heavy whipping cream and ps) but that is what the mom wanted. The shells don't look great but I think the 7 year old will like it. My first sheet cake and first order!!!

This is the cake I made for a recent wedding shower. Kate collects western decor, so that was the theme of the shower. The branding iron on top is for Ron and Kate.

I did this for my nephew, it was only my 3rd cake and it was before I knew how to do buttercream transfer, I traced on wax paper with white icing, let dry, turned onto cake and made an impression, then outlined and filled in. Too much work and I couldn't get his face right. My nephew loved it so that is all that matters.

The bull rider was an image chosen from Clipart by the customer. I then individually died small pieces of homemade fondant and pieced them all together to make the bullrider and his hat.

The cowboy hat is covered in fondant and the bottom cake is frosted in buttercream. The cowboy boot, leather belt, and buckle are hand molded out of fondant, then painted with food coloring. The buckle has an impression of stars and dots, then painted with bronze luster dust. Everything was made the size to "fit" the birthday boy.
