Another mini-wedding cake made for a friend's birthday. Another friend said how much she liked her wedding cake, so she came up with this idea. It's a DH Classic Yellow with the extender recipe added and all crisco BC (for whiteness). It's a 3 layer 8", 2 layer 6" and 3 layer 4". This was time consuming, but EASY!

All buttercream, covered in cornelli lace. I used regular buttercream & didn't have to color it. The smal roses are buttercream, the bigger ones are fondant. This is the 2nd wedding cake I've done and only took about 3 or 4 hours.

This was my first stacked wedding cake & I don't think I doweled it good enough because by the time it got to the reception the bottom tier had cracked. Luckily it was under the flowers so it could be hidden. It was 10", 8" & 6" round frosted in buttercream with cornelli lace and royal flowers. The leaves were satin.

Here is a birthday cake I did for someone at work, please give me your honest opinons. When I got finished with this cake the back bottom layer decided to fall apart. I never had that problem before, and it was a Duncan Hines mix. I have read so much about everyone else's cakes falling apart and it finally happened to me. But I fixed it the best I could. Thanks for looking.

I am very proud of this cake. I haven't done a lot of wedding cakes so I am still learning. This is all covered with pink and white fondant. It was a chore to get the larger cakes covered, but with the help of my husband it turned out alright. The top layer is covered in BC cornelli lace. This cake will feed 232 people. I only charged $250 for it because I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Now I wish I would've charged more. It's okay. I learned a lot! It will be a great addition to my portfolio.

This cake is iced smooth with buttercream. Green cornelli lace accents the cake. Used a few different ideas from CC to come up with final design.

This is a practice attempt at creating something a little different, using the basic idea of cornelli lace. Used chocolate icing for the swirls and border.

Vanilla cake with a fresh chocolate whipped cream filling, iced in buttercream. I put an inscription in the center afterwards. The cornelli lace was really hard to do, I thought my arm was going to break off when I was finished!

This is a cake that the bride wanted to be different. All three tiers are french vanilla with the different colored buttercream icing and roses. I added little pearl accents to make it shine a little more even though I don't think you can see them in the picture. I hope she likes it.

I know this cake looks awfully familiar to one I already did. The lady this was for loved the first one I did and wanted her cake done the same way.

A chocolate cake with buttercream icing. Made for fun for one of my sister's co-workers. My first attempt at cornelli icing. Amazing how such a simple touch makes a cake look so elegant.

Birthday cake for my best friend. She loved it! I need more practice on the cornelli lace, but not bad for a first try. Also first time with fondant roses. I was quite happy with this cake.

1/2 sheet spice cake with BC icing. The "monthly" cake I made for my husband's work. It is a construction company so they have a lot of men and I don't ever see many cakes that seem more manly. So hopefully this will help other's when you have to do a less feminine looking cake.

My son's little girlfriend is turning 7. This is my first try at cornelli lace. Also, I'll post a better pic of the hand painted butterfly (I was just playing around with that one). Chocolate mint cake, all buttercream. Also my first go with HR shortening for b/c. The hearts are made of candy clay, bodice too, sprinkled with sanding sugar.

The top tier is a yellow cake with cream cheese icing and the bottom tier is chocolate cake with buttercream icing. The creem cheese got very warm on the trip to my parents and started to sag. I was dissapointed it the way it looked. Any suggestions on working with cream cheese?

My first baptism cake. White cake, lemon mousse filing. I wanted simple and I found a very nice cross on this webiste in the First Communion pictures which i attempted to recreate. My freehand on cakes is not good; I hope to get better! The remainder of the cake is Cornelli Lace and beadwork; my first time attempting both techniques.

Cake Dummy with corneli lace and dots with artificial flowers. Not real happy that my "arches" aren't consistent, but this was the last of 4 cake dummies I did this weekend and my hand is ready to fall off! Oh well, overall I like the idea, I just need more practice. Thanks for looking!

This is the the wedding cake I made for my nephew. It was all iced in buttercream, covered in cornelli lace. One layer was white cake, two layers of chocolate torted with buttercream and chocolate chips, and two layers of carrot cake torted with pineapple buttercream. The cake was designed by the bride and groom!

I am so pleased with this cake. Finally, a cake that looks reasonably presentable. It was put up for auction at a professional function and went for the highest dessert amount at $120. All funds went to a scholarship fund I love doing gumpaste flowers and can only improve since I am at the very bottom of the realism ladder. I realize the cornelli lace is not perfect but that is what practice is for. Thanks for looking.
