All fondant covered. The cake is 14 inches tall and 18 inches long or so. We did this for a 16th birthday where the theme colors were black and white check and the girl wears theses sneakers.

First attempt at making a whimsical/topsy turvy cake. I chose this shape because it seemed appropriate after I heard the design that the customer wanted. They wanted a blend of elements that make up the birthday girl. The girl loves to shop @ American Eagle (AE), hence the Eagle on top. She loves music, hence the notes. She wears converse sneakers, hence the logo. She loves dolphins and sea shells, hence the first tier. I hope I achieved what they wanted. Cake is Puerto Rican almond recipe.

First I want to thank all the wonderful designers on this website who help to inspire us with every single cake we have to make. My hat goes off to all of you. Stellastarchild thank you so much for your wonderful baby Converse and template. Now for the cake. Choc, French Vanilla, and Strawberry layers with BC and strawberry filling. Cakes are covered in BC then fondant. The shoe and ribbon are fondant and the pacifiers are pink and brown chocolate with strawberries as the nipple.

Thanks to Stellastarchild who posted the template for the Converse tennis shoes. I like the way the look, didn't do the logo because I wanted a more sophisticated look on the overall cake. Here's the link for the template: http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1163795. She also has instructions under the sketches & patterns gallery.

This is a close up of the bling bling shoes that accompanied my Queen City Cake Competition entry. I tried to use the template posted here to make them, but it just didn't match-up for me, so I made my own templates and it worked much better! These were my third set of shoes.....whew!!!!

Birthday cake for my friend's son's first birthday. Shoes are gumpaste (thank you stellastarchild). The duck is store bought chocolate. The ding in the frosting behind the duck's head is where I removed a cut out and had to resmooth. It shows more in the pic and was not noticable in person. Cake and bow made from following the instructions in Sharon Zambito (Sugarshack) Boxes and Bows DVD. Special thanks to her! Bow is gumpaste. Cake details MMF. 8", 2 torted layers, on 1/2" foil covered foamboard

I made this cake for my niece's baby shower. It was fun to make and was a fun conversation piece at the shower. I started with an 11 x 15 cake for the base and used Betty Crocker Bake' n fill pans for tummy and bust. The cake is covered with mmf and the shoes, flowers and pacifier were made with gumpaste. Thanks to stellastarchild for the shoe template and to all fellow CC'rs for inspiration. TFL
