All fondant, made me realise why a few wines with friends before decorating is NOT a good idea ;o)

This cake was for a fellow employee who is the ultimate gamer. I got the idea from on CCC. It was pretty easy once I got the fondant pieces done. The cake a 9x13 chocolate with chocolate filling covered in BC. The control part is painted fondant (first time painting) and then the words are chocolate. I was able to get a grey paint by just a little black and then silver dust. This is my favorite cake so far.

Vanilla Butter cake with butter cream and covered with black vanilla fondant. Royal Icing writing. This was my first attempt at something like this. The black fondant is very temperamental. I tried to roll it fairly thin and it broke in a lot of spots, hence the border around the bottom. thanks for looking.

Ok... So it's not the best controller. It'll do I guess. I had drawn out a perfect picture and had my MIL enlarge it on the comp. and when she did, it elongated it which is why it's not exactly proportionate. It's a surprise for my BIL's bday. Peanut butter cake with choc/ peanut butter bc, covered in fondant with fondant accents. TFL!

This was a bit more difficult to get standing than I anticipated and I had a little trouble with my BC getting a bit too soft under the fondant while I was working on the rest of the cake. But all in all, I was pleased with the results and my brother loved it! BC frosting with MMF covered Wii and MMF accents. The crazy rabbid is MMF as is the controller. TFL!

This cake really frustrated me. I wanted to make an xbox controller (because he is a gaming freak), but I wanted it to taste good. I think we all agree that Wilton fondant looks good, but doesn't taste good. I made homemade rolled buttercream fondant, and it just looks lumpy. Sadness.

This is a cake that I helped my sister-in-law make for her ex-fiance's birthday (yes, you read that right). Yellow cake w/ BC and Fondant buttons. Cupcakes were chocolate w/ mint BC and decorated with basketweave (me) and the grass tip (SIL).

I made this for my twin stepson's birthday's. Instead of making two giant cakes as usual, this year I was able to get away with a controller and xbox and call it good.

My husband and I made this PS2 cake for a family member's birthday. The carved chocoate cake is covered in fondant. The controller underneath is made from crispy rice treats. And the game CD is a fondant circle cut out that is dusted with metalic silver luster dust.
