I did this cake for McCormick (the spice company). One of their distribution centers was having a grand re-opening and they asked if I would do a fork lift. It was def a challenge. Unfortunately there were some inedible pieces, basically the whole front fork lift is plexyglass. :( But it worked and I dont ever want to do another one again! :)

Here's a sketch of how I made my "Valentine Cats" couch cake. I baked a 12"x12"x2"
cake and then cut pieces out of it to make about a 10" long couch. I numbered the pieces in my sketch in the order I put them together. I cut two large rectangles for the base and put filling between them. Then I put the back of the couch on top and inserted 3 evenly spaced drinking straws as "dowels" for support. I carved Twinkie shapes from rectangles for the arms and
inserted straws to keep them in place.

This is a double layer half sheet covered with bc and fondant accents. The dump truck is

This was for my little boy's 2 yr birthday party - needless to say, he loves trucks! It is WASC, filled with ganache and iced with buttercream. The brown icing is ganache also.

This was is the first cake I designed and created myself. Not feeling weel I did nopt go into detail as much as I wanted. This is made with a hexagon cake and a ball cake. I cut one helf of the ball into quarters to place on each side. The green in BC frosting. The road, rocks, and trees was chocolate dough. My 5 year old loved it.

This is carved out of three loaf pans. The "dirt" is marble cake mixed with icing and french vanilla creamer and topped with Oreo cookie crumbs. "Nic" is made from a gumpaste/fondant mixtue, then dusted with shimmer dust. The wheels are cupcakes.

This cake was based on a cake that I saw in Family Fun magazine. They did theirs in buttercream, I did mine in fondant. The lights actually lit up! The mound of dirt was made with the wondermold, covered in chocolate buttercream with smashed oreos. Fun and easy cake to do!

Thanks to the galleries for the inspiration. The mom who ordered this cake didn't have a theme for her 5 year old so I picked one. It turned out to be a hit.

This was for my son's third birthday (the kid party). They are 6-inch and 10-inch chocolate cakes with mousse filling and chocolate frosting, carved. The trucks are from Wal-mart (washed them well!) and the rocks are chocolate that I bought. The signs are suckers that I ordered online. The dirt and sand are crushed chocolate and regular graham crackers. The bottom border is candy chocolates that I bought. One of my son's friends loved it so much he took about a dozen pictures with his mom's cell phone. :)

This was for a 3 year-olds birthday. I was told to do something with construction. I showed the mom the toy and she loved the idea of making it into a cake. I am trying to build my experience with carving, and fondant, so I may have bit off more than I could chew, but it was fun trying. I gave the little boy the toy to match his cake. Both are pictured here so you can see what I was trying to achieve.

My first attempt at anything like this... was interesting at best! Not completely satisfied with the outcome, but it will have to do. Got very creative with this cake...Truck sides (dump part) is made of molded candy, wheels are bagels wrapped in gumpaste, rest is homemade chocolate cake and buttercream frosting. Cake was made for a dear friend's grandson's 5th birthday. Party decorations are Tonka Dump Truck themed. Candles are orange road cones! Hope they like it!! Thanks for looking!
