I saw these cupcakes in a little Bettty Crocker Cookbook and thought I would give them a try. I donated them to my daughter's school Boo Bash they were gone in under 20 min. They do take quite a while to make. If I do these again I will pipe some frosting on the top of the cone to make it look a little rounder. What a hit!. Also, I brought an extra bag of butter cream frosting...so when they picked up there ghost I offered to pipe some frosting on the bottom side of the ghost where the cake was exposed, it made for a more yummy cupcake. It tried one at home and it was dry without the frosting because of the cone, and the fondant.

This ice cream cone cake was for a backyard bbq. It was 6 tiers high and by the end of the afternoon had a serious lean problem! It was great but I need to work at the structure for next time, as well as better shaping the 'scoop' of ice cream.

This was my first ever wedding cake. The main cake is pure chocolate - chocolate cake, dark chocolate ganache, chocolate icing. The only thing not chocolate were the roses and petals which were made out of gumpaste. There were 100 cupcakes in the following flavours: Chocolate Mud, White Chocolate Mud and Hazelnut and chocolate chip. The decorations on the cupcakes were white chocolate roses (coloured burgundy and dusted with lustre dust) and white chocolate discs with a chocolate transfer on it.
The couple loved it and it was a huge relief that I pulled it off!
Inspired by Paul Bradford of Truly Scrumptious Cakes, Thank You to him for all his help :) TFL

The safety cone is gumpaste and stands about 6" tall. The cakes are covered and decorated in fondant. The cement mixer, dump truck, digger and bulldozer are cereal treats covered and decorated in gumpaste. Everything on the cake is edible.

Used MFF for the 1st time and not only was it SO much easier to work with compared to Satin Ice (at least here is dry AZ) but it also tasted really good - although it was CRAZY sweet! Fondant everything except for the pinecones - those were made with over tempered dark chocolate.

I loved making these. I discovered waffle cones a few years ago while making Christmas tree cupcakes...thought tee pees would be great. Half are vanilla and half are chocolate.
Hope you enjoy.
