This is the other cake I made for our United Way Treat Auction. The hands on top is the symbol they use at work for our October UW fundraising campaign. I wanted more orange spray, but it was turning green with the blue, so I quit spraying. French vanilla with strawberry filling with BC
with fondant/gumpaste accents.

Inspired by designs I found on CC. 8 and 6 inch tiers, all buttercream and sprayed with luster dust. Non-edible ribbon curls. Lollipops bought at candy store and "40" tags made on the computer. This was fun to make!

Well this was for a little girl who was having a carnival themed birthday party. I didn't really know what to do so I just made it colorful. The mom liked it so I guess that's what matters! I learned alot, I don't think I've ever worked with this much fondant. It was a good experience, I'm sure the next time I do something like this it will come out better.

This was my first official basket weave cake that I made for Wilton Course 2. As it is close to Halloween, I opted against the white basket and color flow blue birds, and instead made a chocolate basket with color flow bats, a witch, and blackwidows crawling amidst my flowers!
The actual flowers were made with royal icing.

This cake was made for a 16 year old boy's birthday and I got to design the whole thing myself - this was the first time I have ever carved anything and I carved the football before I covered it in fondant. Thanks for looking!

This was my very best fondant cake I had ever made. Although I had a bit of a problem with the corners in the end it turned out beautifully.

This was fun and easy to make. All buttercream icing. I outlined the leaves in icing and then used my finger to pull the icing in towards the middle of each leaf and then added another color for contrast. The acorns, of which I am very proud of are melted choc. chips molded into shape with my oblong measuring spoons. then I put some cream icing on them and brown for the top. They turned out cute.

My neice's 2nd birthday and she loves her "Henry" silkie blankie, as well as Backyardigans. Her mom decided on both for the cake. I had planned to make the decorations from fondant but mom likes the look and taste of buttercream much better. The colors came out bolder than I had intended but that was great. BTW, Tahitian vanilla is much better tasting.

I made this for a very dear friend of mine who is originally from Britain. At each peak there is a color flow pendant that resembles that of a cameo. It was all in ivory buttercream. She was married in mid December and I used silk poinsettias. I thought it was a very romantic looking cake.

This cake is all mf and my first atempt at a gumpaste bow. Whole cake is my original design. I loved how it turned out. Bottom cake is 8" and top cake is 4". Stars are also gumpaste.

Final project for Wilton Course 2, just finished a couple of weeks ago. This was my first experience with marshmallow fondant (basket handle, and "wood grain" mounting strips underneath the bows), and though things could have been worse, it made things difficult. Firstly, it was too heavy for the 20 gauge floral wire to hold up, and I wound up having to secure it with toothpicks. I accidentally used meringue powder instead of color flow mix for the ribbons, and my basket weave was rushed and sloppy.

The request was for a full sheet and a half sheet cake decorated identically (which isn't that easy to do being that one is twice the size of the other as I found out) and for it to be fall colors with "flowers" and to incorporate seafoam green which was their wedding color!!! I tried my best.....I think these cakes are hideous!!! Hopefully they won't, oh and by the way this is the Half Sheet cake

Like stated in the photo of the half sheet cake (this is the full sheet cake) they were to be decorated the same in fall colors and had to incorporate seafoam green (their wedding color) into the cake somehow.

This was an order for a lady that wanted petit fours with a fall colored theme. This is what I came up with. This was my first time ever doing petit fours so I was very impressed with the way they came out.
