Got the idea for the hedge hogs from a bread dough book. From tear drop shape of fondant take sharp embroidery sissors and cut the spines. Try it!

Vanilla Carmel and buttercream bird's nest cupcakes I did for a fundraiser. The nest is toasted coconut and the birds are just buttercream with painted eyes and wings. If I had thought about it before hand, I would have piped leaves for the wings instead.

This is a two tiered White Wedding cake we just did. The flowers are gumpaste Calla Lily and Rose sprays. The top tier is Spice cake with Orange filling and the bottom tier is Pineapple-Coconut with Pineapple filling. I have got to say that the Pineapple-Coconut cake with Pineapple filling is now at the top of my list of great tasting cakes. We had a cake tasting with the bride's sister a few weeks ago and had some cake left over. That is until I got ahold of it.

9x13 all buttercream with crushed graham crackers and brown sugar for the sand, fondant leaves and coconuts on pirouettes, and fondant for the surfboards and shark fin. tfl

This is my first attempt at a carved cake (didn't turn out too well :) This was a WASC pineapple cake with coconut frosting and pineapple fruit filling; At least it tasted good! Thank you so much to kneadacookie for the wonderful idea!!

These are cupcakes I am making for the restaurant I work at. All proceeds go to Breast Cancer Awareness. Flavors: Chocolate cupcake w/ Vietnamese coffee frosting topped with a fondant ribbon; Coconut flavored cupcake w/ white chocolate cream cheese frosting topped with pink shredded coconut.

A mixture of cupcakes I just felt like making one day. Sunshine, coconut, and mini ladybugs. I was teased a little about the mixture because apparently I used fall colors and not summer colors on the cupcakes =)

This is a white almond cake layered with homemade fresh raspberry whipped cream. The icing was cream cheese icing with coconut shavings. The flowers are made with royal icing accented with fresh raspberries.

8" 3 layer german chocolate cake. Coconut pecan filling. Covered in whipped chocolate buttercream, chocolate sauce (chocolate almond bark, semisweet chocolate and hot whipping cream- not real ganache, so I am saying "sauce") and topped with coconut pecan filling. Chocolate transfer "25" (made with chocolate flavored almond bark) drizzled with melted semi sweet chocolate. My first german chocolate cake! Design borrowed from Sweet Pea bakery.

Made a wedding cake for my friend's sister. She wanted plain white cake and liked coconut, so I tried the WASC cake for the first time and also a coconut buttercream. The Buttercream was a pain, I think I messed up somewhere along the instructions or just the fact that I had the wrong part for my mixer :( so I had to figure out how to fix it. It still tasted good, just a weird consistency, I think too much butter or coconut milk so it was difficult to spread. Anyway, top two had coconut buttercream with coconut flakes in between, bottom coconut buttercream with dark chocolate ganache. Fresh roses, they loved it :)

The 90-year-old grandmother was known in the community for her roses and loves German Chocolate Cake. We gave her both. Unfortunately she cannot have nuts anymore, so she got her very own tier with a pecan-less coconut icing. The bottom tier was Vanilla Bean cake with White Chocolate ganache and fresh raspberries filling all covered with vanilla buttercream.

Got a request for a safari cake and here it is. Chocolate brownie cake with vanilla Buttercream. Top tier is giraffe print and bottom tier is zebra print. Covered in MMF and hand made MMF pieces. It's all edible from animals, rocks, coconut trees, coconuts and sign. This cake is beyond what I thought it would be...I just love it!!

Maybe not the prettiest I've ever come up with but I had to try it. Orange cake with orange frosting, cheese is coconut and white chocolate and the peppers and pepperoni is melted gummy snacks. Let me know what you think!!

Luau cake inspired by cakesunleashed (Palm Tree - thank you for the instruction, it was so much fun to make) and always cake (pig). Yellow 12" round cake iced with buttercream and filled with hawiian mousse. 14 different surfboards. Sand is graham cracker crumbs. Entire cake is edible excep the doll and pig skewer. This cake was so much fun to make. Thanks for looking.

Heather is a Colts fan and wanted to combine her 16th birthday celebration with her love of the Superbowl. It is a coconut cake with pineapple and Bavarian cream filling. Gum paste shoe and lettering, all else is fondant. Have a fun Superbowl!

Made last year had to add this to pay homage to what a great recipe that I made from this book by Rebecca Rather called, "The Pastry Queen Christmas." Made exactly as written with fresh coconut throughout with an addition of one layer being blackberry preserves and sprinkled the top with white cake glitter. Made for my family gathering hence why I didnt put it on a proper cake board.
