Well, this cake could have been a whole lot cuter, if it wasnt for the bow not keeping shape. I did link usual, let them dry for three days, but I guess the cold weather, they dont set. Anyway, the client loved it, and didnt say anything about the bow, phew

Made this a surprise shower cake, based on similar designs provided by recipient's sister. Cakes were alternating layers of choc and vanilla cake, and choc and vanilla buttercream, done in fondant. Clothes basket was bottom of an ice cream cone, covered in satin Ice choc. fondant. Criss cross ridges from the cone made it look sorta like wicker.

Inspired by one of Rebecca Sutterby's baby shower cakes. Strawberry cake on 10" tier and CC "Killer choc cake" on 8" tier. Used australian ganache under Michele Foster's homemade white choc fondant. Decorations are fondant with added tylose and some Wilton gumpaste on parts of the train.

They wanted an anniversary cake that stood for who their parents are, what they enjoy doing. so they wanted striped bib overalls and a kitchen apron hanging from a clothesline. Cut both out of MMF and handpainted. Cake is otherwise frosted and decorated with whipped frosting.

Clothesline cakes have become pretty popular for baby showers around here (I've done three in the last six months alone!)
This one was made for a firefighter whose wife was expecting a little boy (hence the matching bunker coats.) The other clothes have mom and older sister's names on them, along with 2D bunk pants, axe and pike pole.
The "clothesline" itself was brown rolled fondant with a royal icing 'hose' to hang up the clothes.

This is actually a dear friend's birthday cake, her way of announcing to her family that their expecting! She said make it foolproof so her mom would get it so the date is their expected date. On top is her adored cat, just waiting on baby. Cake is simple white with buttercream, all decorating are fondant. We put the C's on the clothing for their last name since they don't know gender yet. I can't get the lilac to photograph right but it's there! TFL!

My sister-in-law gave me free rein to make her a a baby shower cake. She wanted Snickerdoodle cake with cinnamon buttercream frosting, but otherwise I got to make any decorations I would like. This is what I came up with after looking at lots of cakes on the internet. The clothes are cut from scrapbooking paper. the sticks are dowel rods, the laundry line is string. I bought the little clothespins and plastic baby shapes at the bottom of the cake at the craft store. I made matching chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting.

This Pink Camo Clothesline Baby Shower Cake was made for a friend's baby shower. Everything on the cake is edible. The sandals on top of the cake are made from fondant, as are the clothes hanging from the clothesline. The clothes are adorned with royal icing and fondant flowers. The cake itself is chocolate with chocolate ganache filling.

My attempt at copying one of elvis' cakes (thanks for your help, elvis!)--didn't quite get the trees as fluffy as I would have liked....maybe next time! Bottom is 12 inch round, middle is 8 inch round, and top is 4 inch round. All buttercream with MMF baby clothes and blankets.

I matched the theme from the baby shower invites to make the bottom tier of the cake, the decor of the party for the middle tier, and the mommy-to-be's favorite type of design for the top tier. I tried not to make it too pink so I threw in some blue to even it out a bit. The cakes were covered in homemade marshmallow fondant as were the decorations. The top and bottom tiers were fake cakes and I had to pack them in my suitcase to get them to California. Talk about the scariest plane ride of my life! You know when you're sitting in the plane looking out of the window and you can see the "throwers" throwing your bag onto the conveyor belt? With two fake cakes in my suitcase, I nearly had a heart attack!

I did a wedding cake for this couple last year, so fun to do a baby shower cake for them! The mother of the mother to be really liked my onesie cake I did a few months ago and the clothesline cake idea and asked me to combine the two. She also asked me to incorporate fondant buttons somehow so this is what I came up with! It's all marshmallow fondant with matching buttercream cupcakes (each with a fondant button on top). TFL!

This was a last minute cake that I did for a girlfriend. Buttercream icing with fondant finishes. I'm not happy with how the cakes are iced but everyone at the shower thought it was great....I guess that's all that matters. TFL

The mom wanted a "gender neutral" exterior and asked for me to dye the batter depending on what the gender was. She gave me the sealed note from the doctor which revealed it was a boy- so I dyed the batter blue!
Cake inspired but other cakes on CC (Clothesline-theme)
