This was an Inspiration from indydeb(love her cakes & reading her advice) and I believe another take on hers. I just can't get that smooth buttercream. I have Sharon's dvd but didn't care for the texture. When I can afford to have sweetex shipped I'll give it another try. This is a yellow cake w/slight lemon flavor Buttercream & lemon flavored Toba garrett's fondant torted with lemon & rasberry filling. Thanks for peeking.

10" x 8" double round cakes decorated with MMF. Made to match the party invitation. They loved it. Course, it's not my favorite but I've gotta pay bills, right? Wow! It's hard to get stripes straight, isn't it?

An 8" single layer cake iced in b'cream; trims are fondant. When I don't have any info for a man's cake I generally use the colors of blue, green &/or brown and make it rather generic. It always goes over well:)

Another use of fondant circles on a cake for a man when you don't have any info as to their special likes. 8" sq single layer is split, filled then iced w/b'cream. An edible image was used for the message only because I happened to have an extra one on hand:)

My friend wanted a star cake, but needed extra cake for a large party. The star pan is only so big, so I enlarged the cake by creating this fun cake! I used their colors based on the invitation that she gave me. I think it turned out okay! :)

I am thinking of using her to design all my cakes now. I love how this turned out. She picked the shapes, colors, etc. The top and bottom layer were red velvet with pecan cream cheese filling. The middle layer is white almond with buttercream.

My first wedding cake made for my very best friend. Using 6, 9, 12, 15 inch round pans. It ended up leaning backward some, but I learned so much from this cake, I'm proud of it. I have to thank tutugirl, aimers, and all the people here for their help and support.

This is a three-tiered mod cake I made inspired by some other cakes, including one by Kate Sullivan. It was fairly easy. I super-pearled the white cake before added the circles, and it makes it a bit more fancy.

Inspiration for this cake from kimsconfections, thank you!! The flash bleached out the baby's head a bit so you can't see much detail, but I think this is my new favourite cake! And nothing went wrong with it!! No disasters which is always a plus :)

My son had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party, but I ran out of time to make a mickey mouse....so I just used the colors and make some silly shapes that would go along with it.

Another cake for the expo. I love how it came out! It's something pretty different for the people I expect to go to the expo (it's a very traditional group), so I'm excited to see how it goes over

Inspired by a gorgeous cake by sugarshack. DH cake mix, BC covered in MMF with MMF accents. BC border (really crooked, I know). How does everyone keep their fondant so clean and not covered in powdered sugar?

I was trying to figure out height vs. support in this cake. The cake is 9 layers tall, starting at 9" bottom and 4" top. Used foam core every three layers and drove dowel down through center. Traveled perfectly with no slipping/bulging (whew!).
I was a little disappointed in the look though, had a different design in my head. I wanted it to look like shiny sequins. I guess that I didn't use the right kind of dust .... oh well!

Cake is covered in fondant. Cakes are 8", 6", and 4". I didn't have the letters fastened yet so they are a little wobbly looking in the picture, plus the candle wasn't stuck in since I don't want to do those parts until I transport it. Thanks for looking!

My 2nd time using fondant. 3-layer white cake, iced in BC, with Satin Ice fondant red circles and fondant border. The birthday girl wore a dress with this pattern at a Bridal Show I was at a nd I tracked her down to tell her, "Your dress would make a great cake!" So her mom ordered this cake for her birthday. They drove 2-hours round trip to get this cake!!!
