I love this website, as I am very new to cake decorating. I've only had 3 lessons in a basics class so far. This cake is a product of "winging it" . but my daughter loved it! (It was strawberry with bc icing.) Big hit at the party!

I made this cake for my daughter's 2nd b-day. The castle is chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling, and the top layer is WASC cake with raspberry filling. Buttercream icing with fondant towers and turrets. Royal icing flowers and gold luster dusted clock and path. Notice Tinkerbell by the clock! Thanks for looking!

11 X 15 chocolate cake covered in buttercream for my daughter's 6th birthday. I'm still working on smoothing. My blue roses especially were "melting" but they were actually some left over cream cheese icing so I didn't have the right consistency. I haven't made roses in literally years, so I think I did okay considering.

I made this cake for a 3 year olds birthday party. I made the cake like the mother requested.
She also wanted only butter cream and no fondant. I had to fix the corners of the front of the cake because they got bumped in the box. Just wanted to let everyone know incase you notice that in the picture :-)

This was my first attempt covering a sphere of cake. Really loved the results. Fondant lamp and rice krispy covered step stool. Smaller cake that was an accent to the bigger cake. The birthday girl ended up wanting just the carriage and stool on her plate! :)

This was my first attempt at a tiara and pillow cake. I copied the design for the gumpaste tiara from Cherrybomb. I think her's turned out much better. I had some wrinkling in the gumpaste from not working fast enough. The cake is a 10" square, and I used a giant oatmeal can to form the tiara.

Vanilla cake with rolled fondant. All accents are fondant. That is actually a whole Barbie stuck into the cake. I couldn't find one that would actually look like Cinderella.

This is the first time I've ever done a castle cake, and it really was a trial by fire! The entire time I spent decorating it, I was battling a crippling toothache that brought me to my knees. I can't believe I finished it on time, plus I had to deliver it. The bottome tier was a vanilla cake and the middle and top tiers were chocolate cake filled with banana and strawberry filling. I made the towers with cupcakes and paper towel rolls, and the cakeboard was covered with fondant. Thanks for looking.

My 1st doll cake. BC dress with fondant bodice & accents. The doll was "vintage" Golden Dreams Barbie thus the tan & unruly hair. The hair was a nightmare to style.

This cake was for my daughter's 4th birthday. She is very into princesses and actually had the theme of Cinderella for her party. I ran out of time on this one and I wish I could have done everything I wanted to do to it but it still turned out pretty good. The carriage platform and wheels were made of rice crispie treats (a first for me but I think I will use them again in the future.) The ball cake is a chocolate cake. The princess is a mini wondermold.

This is a castle I made for a friend's little girl's 4th birthday. You can't really tell from this picture, but Cinderella is sitting on the side, and if you saw her, you'd have to let her know not to eat so much at the ball!! :)

Here's my beautiful castle before transport. Funfetti cake with BC, and MMF flowers. I was very dissapointed in the Wilton Set. The large width of the pillars caused the sides to bulge, which I had managed for the first time to ice smoothly. They also left gaping holes when you removed them. They weren't stable and many fell during transport. On the upside, the now 5 yr old loved it, and thats all that matters.

A close-up of the Cinderella for the Fairy Tale cake, I tried to give each princess her own accessories and environment. Cinderella got steps, trees, a clock, mice and pumpkins.

I saw a picture of a cake castle on the internet and thought to use the idea for a 4-yr old's birthday cake with a Cenderella theme. It's iced in buttercream, the castle top borders are made of gumpaste and tip #14 and #16 were used to bring them together. The cake was sprinkled with edible glitter. I made the fondant castle top borders by using a pattern, and placing the cut fondant to harden on the inside of the cake pan I used to make the cake with (one of my better ideas).

All buttercream icing - Cinderella is plastic per clients request. Storybook is carved from 1/2 shet, castle is 10 in DL and 8 in DL. Used the Wilton Castle kit. VERY time consuming but the little 2 year old went CRAZY!!!
