This is just a practice cake. I will be doing a larger cake at the end of the week, and not really being a quilter, thought I should do a practice cake.

The idea for this cake was santa the night before christmas eve reading his naughty nice list and fell asleep in his pj's. The details didn't really show for the camera. He had blue swirls all over his pjs.

We decorators tend to take elements of design and decoration from countries all over the world. This cake reflects elements of gift wrapping, christmas baubles and holly. I have covered a fruit cake and made the blue gift wrapping in fondant and the other decorations in flower moulding paste for stablilty.

Christmas Fruit cake covered with Fondant and Fondant snowman. Royal icing writing. A really nice easy way to decorate a Christmas cake because there is minimum colouring of icing!

This was my final cake for Wilton Course III! It was getting close to Christmas, so I tried to be festive. I was way too busy after the Turkey Day weekend, so I used foam cake layers and just concentrated on the decorating part.

My first attempt at CCCs. Thanks to Kiddiekakes for all the inspiration, tips and advice.

This is one of three I did for an early Christmas Party at my daughter's school. 120 cupcakes in all, to create Santa, a Christmas Tree and a Christmas Wreath. Devil's Food cake, Chocolate fudge icing, butter icing and fondant for snowflakes and the star.

6 dozen NFSC and Chocolate rolled cookies. All have mmf and then decorated. They also all have some snowflake dust on them, but you can't really see the shimmer in the camera. I added some peppermint to the mmf for the candy canes, it tastes awesome!

I made this cake yesterday for our church's Christmas party. It was white cake with raspberry mousse filling and white chocolate BC. Really yummy! The white choc. BC is definitely a new fave! For the snowflakes, I just freehanded the pattern on the wrapping paper that the cake board is covered in and then sprinkled the whole cake with shimmer dust. Simple but pretty.

This is using the set of 6 stars from Wilton, I did 1 of the largest size, 2 of the next, 1, then 2, etc and ended up with 10 cookies in the tree. Cookies are NFSC, covered with airbrushed fondant and Alice's Cookie Icing for details and holding it all together between layers. This was for a display. Wish I would've taken the pic before I packaged it. Oh well! Thanks for looking.

DH is having a potluck at work tomorrow, so this is what he's taking. Of course, he told me he needed this... yesterday. It's now midnight and I literally just finished it about 10 mins ago. Never done reverse shells before and my base shells need a lot of work, but oh well. As for the ghastly poinsettia on the top... I had the mentality of ''I can fix this''... I do kinda like the colors though. It's BC on a triple chocolate 9''.

This cake is similar to another one I did earlier this week. It was done to match the "Winter Greetings" Lenox china pattern. My mother, Catherine McClung, is the artist who designed the china. The cardinals are chocolate transfers, the pinecones are royal (penny sue's method) real ribbon because I don't have the knack for fondant ones yet.
