well... it was supposed to be a xmas wreath but i got too lazy making fondant ropes that were supposed to look like twigs formed to make a wreath. this was one of my first cakes. the inside is a german xmas chocolate cake with gingerbread spice (lebkuchen). i didn't even ice the cake before covering in fondant. i wanted to put a big red bow on it too but the fondant wasn't workable being that i didn't have the proper food coloring for fondant. obviously i didn't have a clue how to make the cake i wanted.

This is my final cake for Wilton Course III - it's a white cake and I added butter and almond extracts. It has a pistachio mousse filling. I know it's not the greatest, and I could use some improvement, but I've had SO much fun in the classes, if you haven't taken them yet, go for it...you will learn alot! Looks like a christmas cake, but hey it's coming up.

This was made from a 9" round pound cake. I trimmed it's face to make the ears. The icing is caramel. The eyes are peppermint patties, the nose is a lollipop, and the antlers are made of bread dough covered with sugar. The collar is also bread dough with M & M's on it. It was a big hit for my friend's 3 year old daughter.

My teddy bear has one arm missing, so I tried to fix it by bulking up with buttercream first. Glad to say, no one noticed the difference, or cared much.

Got this idea off another persons cake decorating website and I can't recall now where (it's been a while and I was pregnant at the time). A friend (tiffo) and I did this together for a Cookie Ornament exchange for Christmas. It was a blast!
Used BC, white cake. The topper is a snowflake cookie I made for the cookie exchange.

Gumpaste Polar Bears on a sled, hats and scarves, and igloo are gumpaste as well. I liked the cake plate, thought it needed a polar bear cake.

This is based on a cake in the Wilton 2007 yearbook. We had a family Christmas early since my husbands cousin was on leave from Iraq. The squares are fondant and it was my first time making something other than MMF. It wound up sticking so the square decorations didn't work out well. I ended up having to rush on the top layer so it didn't turn out as well as hoped either but it was the first practice I've had time for in months so at least I had fun!

I am the 3rd generation making these in my family. It is a very old mold and I had a silicone replica made so I could keep making them. I believe you can still by them online, someone started marketing them again. They are so fun. If I can find the site I will post it. Its a sugar cookie with royal, sprinkles and coconut beard.

This was for a work party, it was one layer white, and one layer chocolate with buttercream. All the decorations were from the craft store, and the tree had real lights on it. Since there was no room for words on the cake, I just printed them out and put them in a frame. I was pressed for time.

Finally got this loaded! This was last 12/'05 wedding cake for our dear daughter Tiff and her lovely groom Alan.Started on the royal icing snowflakes months in advance. You can't tell in the picture very good, but the snowflakes were all different. They had edible pearls, dragees, rhinestones & glitter.Cake was red velvet to keep in w/the Christmas theme. It was such a joy to do this for her. She's such a sweet daughter!! The cake base was glass blocks w/white lights in the center to simulate a block of ice

This was the 4th Christmas cake I decorated in a short time and I was running out of ideas. I decided to keep it simple and I was very pleased with it. It was a fruit cake covered in marzipan and fondant.

More practice cookies. I'm going to make a sample Christmas cookie bouquet or basket with these. These are the greatest b/c my icing was a little too stiff. I didn't add enough water to thin it down.
