This was a 20cm dark fruit cake covered in fondant. I wasn't happy with the overall cake, but was impressed with the tree - a cone of fondant snipped at with embroidery scissors.

The tree is an icecream cone covered with buttercream using #352. The candycanes are real candycanes. Powdered sugar created the "snow effect." Santa is a chocolate foil covered candy on a mini-Hershey's chocolate and candy canes for his sleigh.

This was my wedding cake. I started it the night before I got married and finished it the morning of my wedding. We had a really small wedding at our house and I still wanted an impressive looking cake. Although this isn't exactly what I wanted I was still pleased with the outcome. We got married in December and I thought the candy canes on the wedding topper tied it all together.

I thought these were too Christmasy (is that a word?) to not put in the Christmas cake gallery!

This was a special cake. My neice's birthday is right before Christmas and for the party we decorated gingerbread houses so we wanted something to go with the theme. It was fun to make and everyone enjoyed.

Just listed these in one of the forums so thought I would put them in the fallery too. I made and sold these cookie bouquets for Christmas last year. They were quite a hit. No-fail sugar cookies with Royal icing

This was for a children's Christmas party at my parish. First time I tried to construct a tiered cake and the most cake I have made at one time to date!! The cakes were covered in IMBC and the decorations were freehanded out of candymelts and applied onsite.

I had made a batch of cookies, and had so many left over, I thought it would be cute to just stick them on the cake. Looks kinda funny, but it was just for the office at work. I'm still learning and experimenting alot.

That was one of the 3 cakes we made for Christmas at the Cake Decorating course, term 4. It took us whole term to make the one with the 250 flowers and only one lesson to make this and the other one coming. They were 6" & 8" fruit cakes.

Fruit cake. Royal icing for the snow and for the trees. The picture does not give full impression. It was simple, yet beautiful.

I made this for a holiday party last Christmas. It's a Martha recipe, down to the meringue mushrooms. My sponge cake stuck in the pan, as as a result it got flattened a bit, but it tasted delish.

This is a cake my son did when he was 7 1/2. Our scout troop does an auction every year where the kids are supposed to decorate a cake themselves and it get auctioned off for a fundraiser. There was more frosting on this cake then most of mine. He had a blast and was so proud of his cake. He did everything except put it in and out of the oven. He even greased and floured the pans and cleaned up!!

Inspired by a Collette Peters creation. The flowers are outlined in royal icing, then filled in with piping gel. Ms. Peters book provided a template for the poinsettia's, but I found it easier to do them freehand. I hand carried this cake all the way to Tulsa OK to a relative's for Christmas.

Playing with cake today and made this mini. Needs some more design elements on the bottom two tiers, but I forgot to do it before I put on the holly leaves. The pearls were supposed to be snowballs, but they are too small. I haven't done many cakes, so practice is a good thing. And my kids don't complain when they have to eat cake :)

This is a cake I made some time ago for the staff christmas party (we have an italian restaurant). This one was a real rush job and was finishing it was we were running out the door, santas arms fell off at the last minute and had to be fixed (too heavy I think in hindsight). The spagetti is piped royal icing. I wanted to get that slurping up spaghetti look. The staff loved it.

This is a 2-layer yellow cake with Buttercream Icing tinited ivory. The bow, ribbons, and tag are rolled fondant. The pinecones are Chocolate Buttercream made using the same technique as a rose. The evergreen was made from Buttercream with the grass tip. My mother-in-law inspired me to make the pinecones using my rose tip. She had a good idea!

This was for a birthday party at church in March. We had 12 tables and each table was decorated to fit a theme for the month. Everyone sat at their own birthmonth table. The bow and ribbons are fondant. Everything else is buttercream.
