Got this cake from a design I saw in one of my Woman's Day specialty cookbooks. The spots and the head are peppermint patties.

Done with a 'character' cake pan. It's all buttercream, and you can't see it but the sides are white. The border is blue/red to match a team color requested. Cake is chocolate which helped disguise any 'holes' between stars!

I did this cake for a friend's daughter's 1st birthday...this is the 1st 2 tier cake I've made...did buttercream icing and fondant for the dots. Had a bit of trouble with the fondant coloring bleeding onto the cake--I don't know if this is usually a probelem when it's hot and humid?? Maybe I need a new recipe? Had anyone else had this problem?
Anyways, it was a fun experiment...it's only my 2nd cake I've made for someone outside of family, and my first time with fondant, so I was happy with the results.

I am taking the Wilton courses now and LOVE it. This was the clown cake. I hate clowns but thought it was cute. I am finally getting the hang of smoothing out my bc too. The candle is for my daughter who has gone 1 month potty trained.

This was my first attempt at a fbct. I wasn't very pleased with it, but I guess it will do. The car and flags are fbct. Took a Long time!
I traced the picture from a coloring book.

This was my first FBCT. The bottam of the transfer stuck to the paper so I had to put the pants on the Brat by filling it in. The cake is buttercream over white cake.

Another wonderful picture drawn by my little girl. It is her and her grandpa holding hands. She calls the backwards letters her "silly writing" and thought it should be included - so I did. I have more fun using her pictures on my cakes! It is a 1/4 sheet cake that is half devil's food and half white. I used my kopykake projector to get the picture and the writing just right.

This is just another view. The towel is made of airheads pressed together. It was 95 degrees and very humid that day, so everything was a bit melty ;(

This is my second cake and is a copy of one I saw in one of Debbie Brown's books. I used MMF and gumpaste painted w/ luster dust for the bubbles. The letters are piped from colored royal icing and then spray painted.

Each year, I make a special personalized cookie for each of my kids classmates. They LOVE having something with their name on it and many of them don't want to eat them!

This was for a Youth Sunday celebration. I was told to do anything I want on the cake that might represent youth, but not to make it religious. I figured the Peanuts characters are timeless representatives of youth. They were pleased.

I did this cake for my niece's first birthday. It was all vanilla with BC. I was so happy with how it turned out! Everyone loved it! The cookies on top are just butter cookies with piped BC. It took me about a week to complete this. I forgot to add that the inspiration for this cake came from coolest birthday cakes website.

I also got sick in the middle of the making the cake so I had to use gloves and a mask, that wasnt fun! At the end it all turned out well. Thank you to all the ladies who helped me!

I made this cake for my daughter's first birthday. It was outside so having cupcakes was much easier to do, but I still wanted it to have the look of a sheetcake. It was my first try at one, I was excited how it turned out.

This was made for a 4yr. old birthday party. I used the actual deck, pirates, cannons and sails from a Leggo ship. The deserted Island was made from candy rocks and graham cracker crumbs. The oceans was made from frosting. The ship was two-3 layered cakes stood up on their sides. There were gummy sharks in the water. It was hard to get a good picture of the entire cake. The kids are still talking about this cake two years later!!

She wanted purses on her cake and hair stuff, like combs and brushes. I was glad to hear that. I finally got to use the comb and brush candy mold I bought a long time ago.
