This is altering 8" layers of Choc. and Van. cakes with butter cream icing. I made this for my husband the Chef for his birthday. I wish I had the time to do the fruit and veggies in fondant, but I ran out of time so I just bought the artificial ones at Michael's Craft Store. They almost look real anyways. LOL I also placed a REAL Caphlon (Katana Series) paring knife on the board as it was part of the theme and also part of my husband's B-day gift.

Here's my Christmas cards. I made these figures last summer and just had to use them. Anyone who knows us will recognize us immediately. My husband cooks all the time and I bake. I put a placemat behind them so they look like they're in Italy!

I made this for my husbands birthday. It turned out nothing like I wanted it to but then I did it in under an hour so I guess it serves me right. I can say there is none left though. Thanks for looking.

I just recently took a class by Browen Weber on Sculpted Cakes and this is one of the cakes we did. This was suppose to be a sculpted chef's head on a plate, but we didn't get time to do the chef's hat...it's still pretty crazy though.

First attempt at a cake resembling a person. I made it for a friend who is a chef and owns a bakery. They specialize in breads and pastries, no cakes!

So this cake was massive, it was a 2, 12" round that were 4" tall stacked to make this massive hat. I made up the menu so I could add the Grads name under the "Executive Chef" title.

Since our boss invited us over to his cottage for a bbq, I made a replica of him as the chef! It surprisingly looked a lot like him...wasn't happy with the way Rich's spreads though, very difficult to smooth...was my first time working with it.

This is a chef's toque grooms cake. The bride and groom have a lot of diabetics n the family so this was dessert to acomodate them. It is 3 6" tiers of diabetic friendly pumpkin cake. It doesn't show well, but it even has the star in the top. I presented it on a butcher block with wine and grapes to carry the theme through.

PANTRY SHOWER CAKE
White velvet cake with swiss meringue buttercream - chef is constructed from cake cones, and MMF.....cake is covered in MMF and sp&meatballs are also MMF. I know....the back of the chef ended up more sloppy than I wanted him to be - was originally planning on him to be closer to the cake so you couldn't see his back.....also, the actual cake didn't really do well with the frosting, so I wasn't able to get is as smooth as I like.
THANKS FOR LOOKING - ALL COMMENTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

My hubby is a Chef at home and a cook at work :-) I took a picture of a jacket and enlarged it on a copier to help me cut out the shape, the buttons are molded and the name is poked into with a painted toothpick LOL (his nickname is Chef Hunny Bunny) but this cake was from the kids and I. On the left shoulder was a pocket with a "thermometer" in it. The fondant was put on in 2 peices just like a jacket would be closed and buttoned. I had a BALL making this..

This cake was done to match party invitations, and to incorporate the elements of a make-and-bake themed party. The guests were making their own calzones and decorating cupcakes while the calzones baked. The hat is covered in buttercream with fondant dots, and the calzone is fondant-covered cake with fondant pepperoni. The cupcake is, well, it's a cupcake and the fork is a regular plastic one. Fondant placemat.

Cutting board and steak are white chocolate cake filled with lemon and raspberry buttercreams and covered in chocopan. Knife is fondant painted with lusterdust. If I did it again I would use gumpaste for the knife, just didn't have any at the moment. Made for the head cook at a restaurant where I waitress.
