This is a chef's hat made from a 4" round of RKT as the base and a 6" carved cake on top, all covered in fondant. Veggies and knife are fondant. Thanks for looking!

Made this for my mother in laws birthday. She adores penguins! 14inch round...one half of the wilton ball pan for igloo....penguins/fish are fondant....pond is piping gel...sugar cone trees. Fairly easy....but 18 penguins took some time!

Chef theme cake for a future chef's 16th birthday. 3 layer vanilla cake with white chocolate buttercream frosting. Chef's hat is made from RKT, coated with white chocolate and then decorated with gumpaste. Small gumpaste bowl edged in gold is in the top of the hat like Japanse steakhouses do, with several small implements inside. The roses were made from gumpaste and shaded with purple per the birthday girl's request.

Chef Hat bottom is a six inch top is a 8 inch cake. Bottom tier is a 10 inch. Thanks for the inspiration CC members.

For a culinary school graduate. Everything is edible, except the wire glasses. Gumpaste chef with EI houndstooth pants and wafer paper toque. All on a 10x10x2 cake.

Client was very specific in her request for an African-American fat chef with her hand on her hip and a raised rolling pin in the other. She ordered 2D as she didn't have the $$ for 3D, so I added a little dimension with frosting.

Cake for Bake a Wish Austin. The birthday girl wants to be a chef when she grows up, so this is what I came up with. Cutting board and chef hat are sour cream white cake with vanilla buttercream, covered and decorated with fondant. Cutting board was then brushed with a mixture of vodka and food coloring to make it look like wood. Food prep bowls are chocolate. Mushrooms are modeling chocolate dusted with cocoa powder. Peas are Sixlets candy; peapod is made from two rolled out Jolly Rancher chewy candies. Broccoli are made from cut lime Tootsie Roll candies, topped with green buttercream, then dipped in green sprinkles. (Broccoli idea is from the book, "What's New Cupcake?") Carrot and knife are modeling chocolate. Utensil holder, spatulas, wooden spoon, and whisk are all made from gumpaste.

Chef is Rice Krispies Treats inside, with modelling chocolate on the outside. Accents are Starburst candies and Tootsie Rolls. First attempt - next time I'll try fondant. The modelling chocolate was a bit too thin and pulled apart in places. Lesson learned for next time! Thanks for looking!

This is actually a cheesecake...never covered one in fondant before but it didn't taste bad! Hat is cake and RKT covered in fondant. Utensils are fondant.
