I made this cake after getting some great ideas on here. Most of my inspiration came from TheCakerater (thanks!). This was fun to make, but I'm not happy with the way the "leaf" turned out. The original was WAY better. I wish I could have made a cuter face on my caterpiller but he's kinda growing on me. I do like how the colors came out and how the fuzzy/furry/hairy effect turned out. I plan to use the head as the smash cake. The caterpillar is yellow cake with bc frosting and the leaf is half chocolate half marble also with bc frosting. Thanks for looking.

It was my intention to make this cake to look like a pond (even though it doesn't really). It's decorated with a frog, ladybug, caterpillar, butterfly and waterlillies. This is my third attempt at decorating cakes.

I made this cake for my son's kindergarten class. Their graduation program is based on this book (called "The Very Teeny Kindergartener") so his teacher thought it would be fun if I brought a cake based on that theme...didn't care what I did with it. This seemed like something fun to try. I hate being a perfectionist though...so many things that drive me crazy about this cake that the kids won't give a rip about!!!! TFL

These cookies were for a first birthday party. The theme was "the very hungry caterpillar" and I was asked to make cookies in the shape of the fruits the caterpillar eats.

My niece's 4th birthday party. I've been waiting for an occasion to do some funky circles and thought the inchworm went well with the theme. My niece wouldn't let anyone cut through the inchworm!!! It was too cute.

NFSC with tara1970 icing. TFL! Lady bugs modeled after JenWhitlock and TracyLH. (I added this part later 'cause I couldn't add another comment after I put JenW down. They both are awesome and I saw they both had a similar lady bug.)

Very time consuming but easy decorating. I used a small glass mixing bowl to bake the segments & various candies to decorate. I mostly used a tip 12 star tip but after 4 or 5 segments switched to a tip14.

Cupcakes for a bug-themed party. The ants are made from black or dark purple jelly beans & frosting legs. The caterpillars are fruit loop-style cereal stacked on their sides for the body and a chocolate easter candy head. The dragonflies have sour gummy worms for the body and wings made of Airhead Xtremes Sour belts cut into oval-ish shapes. A jellybean head finished them off.
