I saw a picture of this cake somewhere and saved it to my hard drive but I don't remember where I saw it. I think it was from a show of some kind. This caterpillar is banana mini balls. I used pull-n-peel licorice for the legs and gumdrops for the feet, and pipe cleaners for the antenae. This is for a co-workers son's first birthday.

I made this cake for my son's birthday party at preschool. All of the kids and teachers loved it so much they wanted me to make another one for the kids' graduation party. I used 1/2 the Wilton ball pan for each segment. The legs and tail are BC. The antenneas are heart lollipops and the cheeks are Necco wafers. The eyes aren't edible - just a couple of plastic google eyes. This was a fun cake to make and it didn't take much time.

This was all carved and BC. The dirt in front of the scoop is more choc cake. it was kind of tricky, as the scoop is just cake, but the sides of it aren't connected. (it was tricky for ME anyway :P) and there were quite a few crumbs, but no one noticed. Whose bright idea was it to do it in devils food? i modeled it after a toy of my son's. I gave out mini versions of the bulldozer to the other kids at the party.

Tried to make my son a Very Hungry Caterpillar cake for his birthday. I didn't have a lot of time and really rushed but at least it's recognizable and he liked it.

This cake was made to resemble the Eric Carle book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". The body is made from a cut up bundt pan, and it is painted with airbrush coloring. It was really fun to paint on the mmf. Thanks for looking!

I bought themed partywear for my daughter's 1st birthday, This candle came with itso i decided to make the cake like it was in the garden. I made a victoria sponge and shaped it into a number 1, I just iced it with plain white royal icing then iced two shades of grass up the sides, then added flowers and I made lil catterpillars and butterflies just like on the candle, I wanted to create the impression that the number 1 was lying in the grass.

This was a fun cake to make. I got different ideas from the Wilton yearbook and put them together. I ran into difficulty with the bc and had to do a repair job after delivery. All figures are a gumpaste/fondant mix. Customer seemed very pleased. Thanks for looking
