I made this as a surprise for my daughter's work Halloween party. It's a 12 inch WASC cake, frosted in Buttercream Dream. The fence, pumpkins, cats and bats are MMF. I used KimAZ's ghost idea for the topper....which I just love!

Ummm, well, I got a call earlier tonight of someone who wanted an ugly cat cake to go in a Kitty litter cake she was making. She needed it at 7:30 in the morning, so I went with what I had. I think it is ugly enough! I must say that it is so much easier to make cute cartoonie looking cats!!!

Thanks to mommy2owen for the "kitten in a pumpkin" idea and mommypaul3 for directions on how to make the lines in the pumpkin look real. I made this one just for fun. Two bundt pans, kitty and lid are mini-ball pan cakes and marshmallows. His whiskers are spaghetti. Covered in buttercream. I smoothed it with a paper towel, then I used a round gumpaste ball tool to make the lines, then used the flatter curved tool to make the lines deeper.

I saw an image of a cake similar to this except it was made out of cookies, so I decided to try something like it myself.

Cake is 8" square, covered in fondant. Hand painted with dusts and americolor gels. Customer wanted cake as a joke for co-worker who is a dog lover. DH recently came home w/ grey cat that she complains about in the ofc all day. I'm not much of a painter, but was pleased with the result. Criticism welcome.

thanks to kellylow for her cake pics, a huge help on this one. Birthday boy turned 30 on halloween and his wife wanted to incorporate the "over the hill" theme in his halloween cake, so i made a fondant figure of him, looking up at the hill, ready to cross over it. Iced in buttercream with fondant accents. I covered a dowel rod in fondant for the tree. Too late, i realized i iced the "hill" the same color as the sky. oh well, everyone though it was great!

Buttercream cake with royal icing flowers. Flowers don't really match because I was in a hurry and just used whatever I had in stock. I knew my daughter won't care. Just having a kitty cake was a dream for her.

NF cookies. Black cat is black fondant with royal icing details. Jack o Lantern is wilton candy melts. The rest of the cookies are royal icing and candy melts mix. Black cat, jack o lantern & ghost have disco dust sprinkled on them. Packaged them each with a colorful Halloween themed label with orange & black ribbons. Sold them at my office for $3.00 a piece. Made almost $200!

Made my own wedding cake. Thanks to Aine2 for her terrific tutorials, and inspiration. Not as fabulous as hers-but my family guests got a kick out of it! It's us (bride n groom)-and two daughters-even the cats & dogs!
Bottom layer was butter choc cake with choc ganache filling, top two teirs were WASC with raspberry filling. All covered with MMF - (I flavored the fondant on the top two teirs with raspberry extract - mmm, mmm!). I normally don't like fondant - but that was yummy!

Ladders and monkey bars are toothpicks and skewers. My daughter let me use some of her beloved petshops and pieces to finish off the cake. fence is made of fondant...This cake was a BIG hit!

Here's my version of Debbie Brown's kitten cake. I painted the cat to look like one of my mom's. It was a fun one to do. Cake is german chocolate with a squirt of dark chocolate syrup and plain buttercream filling.

This is for my son Connor who is turning 19 on Nov.24. He has wanted a Cat in the Hat cake ever since I started decorating cakes!! Thanks to "justveggin", for the idea. The only thing is, I read her comments later and found out that her cat was more of a stand and not cake. This is all cake!! and I just hope that I get it to his work this morning!!

This cake was SUPPOSED to have little white flowers in the green squares, and also as borders. But (as usual for me) I ran out of time! So had to do frenzied, piped borders with fantic, shaking hands. AAAARGH! Oh, well. Figures are fondant/gumpaste combo. Sign is candy melts. Inspired by many of the cool Seasame Street and kitty cat cakes on Cake Central!

Done for a good friend at work! She loves cats, and with some inspiration from 'karicroop' this is my take on her 'oh so cute' cake. Not quite as good as hers but I was pleased with the results. Cak is homemade chocolate, and icing is buttercream, eyes, ears, nose and mouth are gumpaste. Thanks so much 'karicroop'!!!
