I made these for my daughter's kindergarten & my son's preschool Dr Seuss's Birthday class parties on March 2nd. They are no fail sugar cookies with Antonia's royal icing. I'm still seeing red & white stripes in my sleep, LOL!!

My Navy friend stationed in Afghanistan requested a "cat in a sailor suit" cake for his girlfriend (who lives near me). I used my HUGGABLE TEDDY BEAR pan and did a little re-decorating to accommodate his request.

This cake is a 9x13 covered in buttercream icing. I made a small number zero cake for the cat and then covered it with hair using the grass tip. The dog cake was carved out of a mini loaf pan and then covered with hair using the same tip. This was one of my first cakes and I learned that you should do all the decorating on the 9x13 cake first before you put on the cat/dog because they get in the way of doing anything else. I think it looks a bit plain but now I'll know for next time.

I did this cake for my nephew's first birthday. He orginally wanted a space ship, then after I had baked the cake he decided he wanted cat in the hat. So had to compromise and make do with what I had. I free handed the picture on the cake from an invitation. Thought I didn't do to bad of a job for never having any cake classes. Still working on trying to learn how to smooth out the icing.

I made this cake for my sister's birthday. It is modelled after one I saw on this site. The purple is a tinted chocolate glaze. It turned out okay for a quickie cake.

Dear MMF Bagpuss, old fat furry cat-puss, wake up and look at this thing that I bring: a banana cake covered with jam, an anniversary cake for a friend. Not very professional... but Emily loved him.

I made this out of rich fruit cake. The seat of the chair was a whole 8 inch fruit cake, the arms of the chair was made from a 4 inch fruit cake cut in half, and the backrest of the arm chair was made from a square 4 inch fruit cake and a round 4 inch fruit cake. I cut the round in half and placed eitherside of the 4 inch square cake to make the backrest rounded at the corners. This cake was a replica of a friends favourite chair, so was the cat!!

Cat Yarn, Dogs Bone Cake
My version of Debbie Browns cat and dog cakes. Animals based on birthday girls own three pets. Animals and trimmings are molded pettinice and the cake is 10" butter cake with raspberry filling with yellow BC. Since this is my eleventh cake, your critique is very appreciated.

12" & 6" round b/c with fondant ribbon roses and number 4. Color Flow cats. Once again the black did not dry enough and the color bled. :( Out of six of them these two were the best plus the other ones broke. grrr. So tip for color flow.....do outlines in advance and allow plenty of time to dry...days not hours before filling in.

I got this recipe from KidKusine.com. It's a mix of choc/white cake, cookies, pudding, tootsie rolls - It is so realistic looking some people would not eat it!!

I made this cake for my step-son's birthday party. He wanted a "Fear Factor" party, so we found a cake like this on the web and decided to try it. It sure did gross out the kids! It is crumbled up chocolate and white cake with vanilla sandwich cookies smashed up on the top and some died green to look like fresh step

This was a cake I made for my cousins birthday. She is a fan of both cats and painting. I tried using that marshmellow fondant for the paint can but it didn't work at all.

This cake was decorated for my daughter's birthday. The cat was formed from fondant and the cake was decorated in buttercream icing. I believe the design was from a Debbie Brown cake decorating book.

Just practicing, I was asked to do a cat and this is what I came up with. On the real cake I think I will go with mmf for the eyes and nose, was not happy with the face.... Second sculpted cake.... Lemon cake w/ buttercream icing.

The cake was pictured at an angle so you could see the White Rabbit on the front, but I think you can still see the top picture okay. Everything was done with buttercream, and a lot of it was applied with paintbrushes & toothpicks. Thanks for looking! :D

This was from Debbie Brown's book 50 Easy Party Cakes. This was fun to make but did it ever take a long time to make the "yarn"! Chocolate cake with MMF cat and yarn.

This was my first ever attempt at basket weave icing, and I thought the end result was quite nice.I made the "blanket" from fondant, and pricked a design into it with a toothpick to give it a quilted effect.I think its quite cute.

Would this kitty have looked better if it was darker pink? The little girl turning 5 wanted a pink kitty cake for her birthday (with roses). I thought light pink would be cute, but maybe the face just wasn't done as cute as it could have been. I could have given her larger, round, "cartooney" eyes, instead of trying to make it so much like a cat. Also, the lines around the mouth could have been thinner. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

The preschool teachers wanted a cake that went with their theme. I found the picture of the cat in one of my children's coloring books. I traced the picture onto wafer paper than placed it on the cake.

We based this on a drawing in the Seuss book Yertle the Turtle....its supposed to be 9 turtles stacked high, we had 7...the bottom turtle's name in the book is Mack, my daughter's name is MacKenzie...so we thought it woudl be cute.

The turtles on top are white chocolate sprayed with blue wilton color mist...and the bottom turtle is cake with fondant pieced together mosaicly. THe letters are chocolate, I used a clay mold for them, and the cat tails are chocolate as well as the grass used just plain waxpp

Yes, all buttercream. This little girl chose the theme "cats" from a party package site. I looked at the pictures and went with my version of the big-eyed cat.

My daughter will leave peuterspeel (pre-school) tomorrow to start kindergarten on Monday. Her peuterspeel is called 'De Kladderkatjes' which translated to English means 'little scribbling cats' - hence my chosen design for the FBCT! I've made this cake for her to share with her classmates at snack time. Vanilla sheet cake, all iced in vanilla buttercream with sprinkles.
