Here is a very simple way to decorate a cake. Put the pattern on the cake and put the shugar on it.

My friend lost her cat so I did her a kitty cake for her birthday. Used up the RI flowers from the wilton class that I had saved. Used two mini balls for the head and built up the legs with icing. Unfortunately the spaghetti whiskers weren' t the best!

A gal I know ordered a cake and wanted a dog and cat on it. A wonderful gal here on CC, Richash, found these sepately and combined them for me. It was really cute. I usually do a really thin FBCT of the figures only or the entire cake top. I'm not loving the "raised" look, but DH said it's all a matter of preference... next time I'll do the entire cake top as that's my preference. but the transfers themselves are pretty good.

This was done for an adult hockey team at the end of the season. They wanted me to come up with something funny. It's actually a comic I found; I can't take credit for making it up!

I made this cake for my daughter's birthday. She loves cats so I decided I would make one just like her beloved! It's made from RCT and fondant
She never did cut it, I think she had to throw it ou after a couple of months.

Marble carved kitten on chocolate 13x9 cake decorated with a basket weave "rug". This was my first time carving a cake and all went well except making the "fur-look" I had some trouble with that. Cat was decorated to look like the bday girls bday kitten. All decorations are BTC except the whiskers....I used fishing line.

mmf covered pillow with all mmf kitten and blanket on top. NO GUMPASTE. I have found letting the mmf set overnight means not having to add any hardener to it and then the kids love to eat it because it is one giant marshmallow. Complete cake is 100% edible

Design by Debbie Brown. The birthday girl wanted orange yarn and the cat to be black and white to match her own cat. Easy cake to make, but time consuming.

I let my daughter, Irene (7 yr), have a free time with my fondant, and a 3' cake. This is the result (100% unsupervised!). Mum: "why not 'pet parade'? Irene: "Because dingo is not a pet, it is national animal. So is ladybug!?" This is a welcome home cake for her daddy who was away for 1 week.

I used the napkins they chose for the cake idea. Cake turned out great till my youngest son decided it needed some aeration and so poked several little finger holes and pulled down on the ears! He also thought the mouth needed some rearranging so that had to be re-done, as well.
