I’ve just got back from a Maisie Parrish workshop. The project was “Baby in the bath and the cat has fallen in”. It got a bit battered on the flight home, never mind it was a great day.

I did this cake for my 2 year old daughter's birthday. Based (obviously) on a Debbie Brown design. Chocolate chip cake with BC & MMF yarn/cat. I had more fun making this cake than any other one I've done so far.

One regular customer called me last week because her sons wanted me to make their birthday cake. They asked for Sylvester on a motorcycle. one loves Sylvester and the other motorbikes. So they wanted both! Their parents came in to pick up the cake this afternoon and they were very pleased and told me that the kids will really love it! I'm so happy.
It's a fbct. I took two pictures on the net and mixed them to get the right design.

This was supposed to be 20 servings but it ended up pretty huge! Probably feeds over 40. Yikes! I got carried away I guess. I had to make a stand for it to support the head so once I did that I had to go with it. I also wish the bottom of the dress looked neater...but overall I think the customer should be pleased enough tomorrow.

This is a double layer, 12 by 12 cake. Cat is a FBCT...my first! The black ran a little, but apparently that happens!?! I wish it didn't. The squiggles and swirls on the top and sides are candy melts. Thanks to Satin and others on CC who inspired this cake!

It's all edible. The basket is a four layer cake. The cat and yarn balls were cupcakes. For the dog, I just baked some 6 inch cakes and started sculpting away, playing it by ear. All buttercream.

This cake was made years and years ago for my brothers birthday, its one of the very first cakes I decorated...I used a disposable camera, so the picture quality is really bad...but its a pretty cake anyway :)

The cat tails are made from spaghetti noodles and toostie rolls..for the life of me I have no idea what flavor the cake was, but it was iced in butter cream icing...

Made for a 7th birthday party. It was my first FBCT and I was so nervous, esp. since I decided to do it at the last minute! I think it turned out pretty well despite the bleeding of the dark onto the light, but everyone loved it, nonetheless! Chocolate cake with BC.

This is a strwberry sourcream cake with strawberry buttercream frosting hand molded and set ontop of a 1/2 sheet devils food with choco buttercream frosting. The 4" is a choco cake with vanllla buttercream. My daughters idea was to have a pink kitty..my husbands idea was to have it in a crouching position blowing out 6 candles to represent our daughters 6 yr birthday. It was a hit!

These were for a friend who wanted to give them as a BD gift for her professor who loves cats. Used a wreath cookie cutter upside down when I couldn't find something for a cat's face!! My sugar cookie recipe with antonia74 icing. My DD said they looked Hello Kitty.

This cake was a gift for my friends daughter turning 1. It was made to match invitations. I told her the sky was the limit and hoping to do some fun pink girly whimsical cake - but this is what she wanted. That sounds enthusiastic, doesn't it?

This is a shameless copy of a very cute cake made by CakeL8T. Thanks so much for the darling idea. I had been searching for a shaped Hello Kitty cake and hers was so cute. I changed the colors to match the mother's request. Strawberry cake with Cream Cheese frosting.

This is my first "bigger" cake. Prior to this, I only had done 9 inch cakes. The bottom is 12 inch and the top is 9 inch. PLUS, it's my first real tiered cake (compete with wooden dowel supports). It took me way longer than I expected but I think it turned out nice. Bottom layer is chocolate fudge cake with chocolate buttercream and the top is white cake with buttercream icing.

A guy asked me to draw out a life-like cat for his wife. The 1st time I did it, I try to use the grass tip to make it look furry, but it didn't look right, so I re-did it this way.

I did this cake for a very picky client she was very hesitant about giving me her and her boyfriends initals and the colours of their cat - apparently she felt they had nothing to do with decorating a cake. The cake is chocolate with strawberries/ whip cream filling.

This is my first "real" topsy turvy cake! I was pleased and so was the birthday boy and his parents. It's a yellow cake covered all in vanilla BC. I also made 24 yellow cupcakes with vanilla BC. The colors matched a book the mom had given me. Thanks for looking.

These are first experiments with a few designs that will be incorporated into a going away box of cookies for someone who's driving to Los Angeles to seek fame and fortune. Not sure what else I'll do. Stars of some sort, for sure. This one required making a cutter, so I started practicing here. NFSC with Alice's Icing. Shaded with nontoxic chalks. I'm really struggling with consistency. My flooding is really rough. I guess I need to go thinner still. Practice, practice, practice!
