I got the inspiration from many cakes on this site. It looks like Tuggy has the original design! Thanks! The birthday girl (and mom) loved it! The cake is fondant with fondant accents. The heart is fondant on a lollipop stick. I also made a few dozen cupcakes to go along with the cake. The tierra on top of the cupcakes is fondant and I used a template from the Wilton Yearbook.

This was my first castle cake. The towers are cardboard tubes covered in fondant brushed with vodka and rolled in clear sprinkles. The tops are Ice cream cones, doors are mini hershey's bars, icing is buttercream. The swag, and top of castle and towers are also fondant. Used icing to "glue" cones onto towers. My daughter was so excited about this cake...as was I.

My first cake! It's Tahitian vanilla bean, covered in vanilla buttercream. The turrets are covered in white candy melts, tinted pink, and sprinkled with cake sparkles. I took the suggestions from the forums and cut the bottoms off of the three towers on the top (this made them hollow) and I attached wooden dowels using candy melts. The flowers are fondant and the leaves/vines on the turrets are royal icing.

Just finished this cake tonight for a birthday party tomorrow - used the Wilton Castle cake set, and it was definitely a bugger to work with, and took longer than I anticipated. Buttercream w/ fondant accents. TFL!

Thank you cambo for all your inspiration and help on this one! Used tip 12 for the castle then smoothed with Viva paper towel. Dipped cones for turretts in candy melts then sprinkled with edible glitter... hint... don't freeze them... they crack!

This is Princess Dora and her castle I did for a little girl turning 3. All done in mmf, I also used rice crispie treat to make the towers. I have been wanting to do a castle cake for a while now, just wish I did a better job - a little harder than I anticipated!!

My first castle cake. Bottom is 10inch choc. pound cake top is 6in strawberry. I had a lot of trouble with the pillars staying, so if anyone has any recommendations please tell! :) Lucikly I took a repair kit and everything worked out fine! The birthday girl loved her cake and that is always the goal! The princesses were purchased by her mom and I placed them on.

Used the new Wilton castle set to build this 2-tiered cake. It is completely done with buttercream - no fondant. The small cake is a 5-inch, 3-tiered (probably a mistake, looking back on it) and the large is an 8".

This was my first castle cake. I got a lot of my ideas from Karenelli's castle cake (which is soooo much better than mine). The cake is a combination of BC and Fondant and the tiara on top was made with royal icing.

I used several cakes from the website for inspiration. This was a very pink cake for a very girly girl. It is a 10" square, 8 inch round, and cupcakes. I put a little edible glitter on top for some sparkle. She loved it!

This is made with the Wilton castle set for my daughter's 4th birthday. She really loved this cake and still thinks it is her cake that is on the cover of the Wilton yearbook. hehe I don't think I am ready for magazine covers just yet, but it is fun to have her as my biggest fan.

I made this cake for my daughter's 4th birthday. The look on her face was worth all the work it took. I don't know how you all do these cakes often. It took forever, but I am pretty pleased with the outcome. It's a 10" square and a 6" round. I purchased the princesses from the Disney Store. Hope you like it. All comments welcome!
