THis is my first castle cake. Cakes are 12 in choc/white marble with white chocolate, chocolate chip buttercream and top layer is 6 in choc with choc baviarian cream filling. Pillars are bottom ice cream cone with cake in it, and top is sugar cone covered in candy melts. Princess is made with fondant/gumpaste mix. Had alot of trouble with this cake, home birthday girl likes it.

Chocolate cake, white cake, ice cream cone towers, buttercream frosting. Roses and pearls on tower are candy clay. This cake took a lot of time but it was a lot of fun. Thanks to all who posted their cakes, I was inspired by so many.

This cake was much easier to make the second time. You learn lots of new tricks after the first one falls. : ) Either way it was fun to make and a real hit with my daughter and her friends.

This was my first castle cake and it was so much fun. With some extra time, i would have loved to make more windows, maybe some stained glass, some window-boxes, etc. Lots of ideas but now enough time!

I used the Wilton kit for this cake. The outside was done in MMF, Buttercream, and Royal Icing. All of the flowers were royal. The towers are not that stable so I glued them in place with lots of royal icing and then covered it up with the green buttercream. This was based on the Wilton design found on the box for this kit.

decorated in a hurry while not feeling so well... Again I decorated with a whipped cream frosting, not the best choice for a birthday on the 4th on July :)
The family love it even though it didnt transport very well

I did this one for my daughter intending to get it done quickly! Well, it wasn't so quick even though it looks like it! I used mini jelly rolls on dowels for the towers. There's a banner behind the candles that says "Happy Birthday Princess Emilie".

Well . . .my Dear Daughter asked me for a castle cake so I tried my best. She loved it, and I think it turned out o.k. for my first. I look forward to improving! The cake was done, and I went to bed . . . . when I woke up the top layer had split in two!! I guess there is a reason why you are supposed to have holes all the way through both layers!! Live and learn. I was able to salvage it and my dear family said if I hadn't pointed it out they'd have never known. . . Hey gotta love family!

My first attempt at a castle cake. Two 9x13" on the bottom with two 8" rounds on top. Towers are sugar cones dipped in white candy coating; turrets are sugar cones dipped and then sprinkled with pink sugar. Loved making this and decided it was time to start taking Wilton's classes so I'm doing that now and am loving it!

This is a castle I made for a friend's little girl's 4th birthday. You can't really tell from this picture, but Cinderella is sitting on the side, and if you saw her, you'd have to let her know not to eat so much at the ball!! :)

My four year old daughter wanted this cake for her birthday, nothing else would do. Since I am very new to cakes, it was quite a learning experience for me.

This was made for my niece's 6th birthday, everyone LOVED it!
I am just an amateur and I've learned a lot from Cake Central.
This was my first time using the "Viva" method to smooth the icing, it was *amazing!* I also used the crusting buttercream recipe, from this website, for the first time. I LOVE that icing! The cake is actually pink; the photo doesn't show the colors very well

All BC--copied from an idea on CC. I used marshmallows for the turrets (or whatever the bumpies are called). The little girl just loved her castle cake!

Staring to get a little burned out on castles!! They wanted a smaller version of my other castle and I wasn't sure quite how to make a small castle--any other ideas welcome!!! I also am having a hard time getting the turrets to be secured-these fell over during transporation and luckily I was able to fix them-HELP!

I got this idea from this website. I did this for a co-worker's bridal shower because she so desperately wanted a cinderella wedding but everybody else didn't want her to have it. So I did a fairytale cake for her shower instead.
