This cake was inspired by mypastrychefs castle cake and several others here on CC. I also used Aine2's how to make a face tutorial for the little princess in the window. Thank you for all the great ideas.

I actually have been wanting to make one of these just to see if I could. The bottom is made out of a 12 x 15 cut in 1/2 and stacked and then I used the small oval from Wilton's course 2 class 2 of those stacked. I didn't think it was too bad for my first one. Thanks for looking comments appreciated.

I took this idea from someone on cakecentral. Thanks to everyone for all of your help. This was my first stacked cake. It is not perfect and i think it could have come out better, but I learned alot while making it. It was fun to do! This was for my 2 daughters. They loved it and I guess that is all that matters!

This was my 2nd castle cake and it was much easier than the first one! I got many ideas from several of those here on CC who have done castle cakes. The cake is chocolate with oreo/buttercream filling.

I made this for my daughter's 3rd birthday. The towers are paper towel rolls covered in royal icing with a 12 tip...then I smooshed it down after a few minutes to give it a cobblestone look. The flowers are royal icing made ahead of time...I used a fondant cutter to lightly push for the brick look & on the door. This took ALL day, plus a few hours on days before!!! and then I forgot to make flags for the towers!!

NEVER again will I make this cake! For a first bday. The towers, which were not attached, fell during transport (they were in a box).I couldn't for the life of me get the towers to stand up on the cake, they kept falling down. The dowels would not stay attached b/c it was too hot for the candy melts to stay firm.I had to do away with the top towers and just put the cones on.
Cake is chocolate, bc icing, mmf. Cupcakes are WASC, rasp. filling, cream cheese icing. Smash cake is carrot applesauce with bc icing

This cake was done for the county fair competition and is completely edible, the turrets are stacked cake round, cut out with a small glass. I want to thank KaraBear1125, her cake was my inspiration and she kindly answered my questions. Update 9/9....I just got word, my cake got a 2nd place ribbon in the cake decorating competition!!! WOW! :)

I made this cake for my daughter's 4th birthday party today. It's my first time doing a castle cake and I've definately got questions for the next time I attempt one. :) I ran out of time and didn't get to add little details that I would have loved to add, maybe next time. :) I lost one of the little balls on top of the tower during transport, it was the only little mishap. I finally tried the WASC cake and it was awesome.

Chocolate / Strawberry Filling and Vanilla/Strawberry This was using the Wilton's Castle Cake Set. I really liked it and only comment I would make was that the pieces of plastic is a little harse and may need to be sliced to get the royal icing to stick.

This was my first attempt using MMF. I made all of the daisies, roses and leaves out of MMF. The drop flowers on the castle were Royal Icing. The castle was made out of Wilton Candy Melts. I had trouble getting my icing to stay smooth. It was very humid that day. It even cracked as you can see on the top of the cake. Ugh!!!! Thanks for looking!

I made this for my grandson's 6th birthday. It took a total of 14 hours. I used the Wilton Castle Cake set. The cakes were 6" & 10" squares; one layer of chocolate, one layer white; almond buttercream under the fondant. It was a lot of fun to make; not sure if I would do another.

This cake was a fun one to do!! My niece saw it in the Wilton Yearbook & asked me if that could be her next birthday cake. How could I say no to my beautiful niece?!! :-) Only thing.. I have got to stop making such huge cakes, I've got to down size!! There were only 14 people at the party! My sister & her family will be eating cake all week ha, ha, ha!!

Olivia wanted a castle cake so I made a 9 x 13 chocolate cake with chocolate moca filling, iced with b/c.
She wanted something to play with after the cake was cut, so I put plastic items on the cake. I made the
walk -way with marshmallows, I rolled each one out, and cut each one into a square, then I spray
painted them. The flowers and roses are R.I. Olivia also wanted Dora, so I put a Dora candle on
the cake. Thank you for looking.

This was my first attempt at cake decorating. It was copied from 1989 Wilton book. All BC except for the knights and ladies profiles done in RI. Towers were icecream cones. I did this for my first granddaughters first birthday. It took me forever but was a big hit.
