Here's my first attempt at Cake Balls. Fun, but I'm definatly not an expert yet at 'dipping' them. Please excuse the messy ones. I decorated them with RI holly leaves and berries since I was taking them for our Children's Christmas Program at church.

I made these for Thanksgiving - couldn't believe how easy they were. Chocolate cake with mini chocolate chips, amaretto and dipped in dark chocolate with white chocolate forking. They were a hit!

I followed the instructions as in the forum, but I found they were very soft in the middle, but taste delicious if they are cold! I made adult flavors with Bailey's hint of mint and chocolate, creme de cacao, and limoncello. I also made the multi sprinkle one for the kids that had vanilla caramel coffee flavoring. Easy and they look good!

I made these for the ladies in my office. I'm going to give each one a dozen cake balls each in little mini cupcake paper packaged in a leapard print chinese take out box with red and green ribbon tied on top. These are chocolate chocolate chip cake dipped in Baker's milk chocolate.

Thanks to the great article here on CC I was inspired to try my hand at making cake balls. I love the way they turned out. Haven't tried them yet but I will tomorrow ;-). They are pound cake with cream cheese and pecan frosting, hazlenut coffee flavouring and BC.

Instead of making cake for my family Christmas gathering, I made several flavors of cake ball. We had carrot cake drizzled with white chocolate, chocolate cake covered in chocolate, low-sodium (yellow) cake covered in chocolate and milky way cake balls drizzled with fudgy icing.

My husband recently discovered he REALLY likes cake balls after I made a trial batch. He told me I could stop making cakes and only make cake balls from now on. This is my second time making them.....for him to bring into work. I used hazelnut creamer and Wilton candy melts. Accented with vanilla almond bark.

Egg Nog Cake with Butter Rum Frosting. Cake Balls to decorate and an Almond Bark Star. I still like the IDEA of this cake, but have some serious work to do to get it to look like what I had in my head.

First of all, my cake balls were WAY too big. And I think next time I will use M&M's as lights. It still seemed to be missing something.
I might also add some snow on the branches and plan to do a little more carving to get the branches more uneven looking, and it needed a cupcake layer on top.

YUMMY! This is a 9", 3-layer, Doctored Devil's Food Cake, Filled with Whipped Sweetened Cream, with a Cooked Chocolate Frosting (semi-sweet Chocolate chips, half & half, butter and 10x sugar) surrounded by Cake Truffles (scratch yellow cake, mini chocolate chips, vanilla-caramel creamer, 10x sugar, dipped in chocolate wafers). This is for a friend who I'm told LOVES chocolate, so I picked this cake instead of decorating a cake.

I used the same cake ball recipe that we all use for Christmas, but shaped them into footballs and used store bought icing to draw on laces. I didn't lace all of them since the icing didn't harden. My DH's eratic driving cause a little mess.

I made these to take to a Chinese New Year Party. They are heart shaped and assorted flavors. I added a fondant ribbon & daisy. The ribbons are stamped with chinese characters for Love, Happiness, Longevity & Health. I used non-toxic gold for the stamping and the center of the daisies.

DH's Birthday Cake. I would have rather tried to make the plan but I ran out of time to do so. He loved it anyway. He's an Aerospace Engineer by degree, Software Programmer by choice! Our oldest son suggested to spray the blue and add the clouds after that. He's 6, almost 7, and is already giving me input on cake designs! The cake is just that... larger cake balls. I used leftover BC and flavored creamer to bind them together and it's all iced in BC. DH dislikes fondant. Very rich! Enjoy!

After seeing a demo at my first San Diego Cake Club meeting I decided to try making fancy chocolate covered oreos. They are sooo much fun and much neater than hand dipping. I used a variety of milk, white and dark chocolate candy melts. My first batch of cake truffles (aka cake balls) are in the middle. All decorated in Easter colors for a party tomorrow.

Someone in the forum mentioned that they were thinking of making Easter eggs out of cake balls so I had to try it. I used my leftover cake scraps, crumbed it up and then added Cinnamon Hazelnut Coffee Mate. I covered it with buttercream instead of chocolate candy melts. It still produces a deliciously moist cake! Thanks for the suggestion!

These are yellow cake with french vanilla creamer and brightly colored candy melts. They were nicely egg shaped before I dipped them. Thinner melted candy is recommended! A few of them do resemble dyed eggs.
