Vanilla Cake truffles topped with RI pansies and ladybugs. Others topped with more "chocolate", toasted coconut, and crushed peppermint (my favorite). They are in the candy foils (for size reference), next time I will make them a bit smaller so they will fit better! They were a very yummy way to use up my cake scraps and also a fancy treat for the potluck I went to. Everybody loved them!

I'd never heard of cake balls until I found Cake Central, but then I too found the Bakerella site and saw her cake pops (or bites). She's also came up with creating a chocolate bottom resembling a reeses peanut butter up and then plopping the cake ball into the cup and then coating in chocolate--I just had to give it a try. Took them to work and they disappeared in a few minutes! Search on Bakerella to find her site--it's well worth a peek. I'd like to try other flavors of cake balls from recipies here.

Just cake balls from the recipe here on CC... dipped in 2 different chocolates and covered in sprinkles... placed on stick. Did this in sort of a lollipop style for my niece who loves PF's and wanted cutsie mini cakes for her party.

Thanks to Bakerella's blog I got this wonderful idea to make a wedding bouquet out of cake balls as part of a Honeymoon Basket. They turned out great! I used strawberry cake mixed with cream cheese icing. The bottoms are dipped in dark chocolate and the tops are dipped in green chocolate. I made roses and ribbons out of ivory gum paste and used royal icing to accent. Here's the link to her site: http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2008/04/make-your-cupcakes-pop.html

Finally put my leftover cake scraps to good use. Three different flavors, Double Chocolate, Chocolate Hazlenut, and Chocolate Strawberry. Gave these to the various people who have been referring me to do cakes. Got to keep them happy! TFL

They love wine and they were having a small, small wedding. So, I made the crate the cake, a fondant wine bottle with edible image details on a fondant "satin fabric", fondant cheese and the grapes are actually cake balls bunched together

Devils Food cake crumbled, mixed with bc frosting and a bit of raspberry preserves. Shaped into blobs for Ghosts and coated with melted white chocolate. Pumpkins are made with orange melts and a silicone mold. Filled with choc popped in fridge, filled with a minicake ball and then topped with more orange choc. Cooled and Voila! Simple.
