These are the cookies that I made for a caterpillar cake. I will post the
completed cake tomorrow. It's for my friend's daughter's 1st birthday party.
I made Georgia her own ladybug smash cake to go with it. The cookies are
Penny's recipe (modified with a little toffee nut powdered coffee creamer)
with Antonia74's royal icing recipe.

Thank you Diesel!!! Your caterpillar cake was so beautiful that I copied it!
Thanks for your inspiration and help!
This is Georgia's 1st b-day cake for her party today. I can't wait for her and
her mother to see it! Just chocolate and yellow cakes with buttercream.
Sugar cookies (Penny's recipe) with royal icing (Antonia74's recipe.) Her
ladybug smash cake is in my pictures.

made this out of rolled buttercream. The mixture was off just a bit so a little harder to work with this time. I got inspiration for bugs on this sight (there are inch worms crawling around). The wings I had planed for the bees did not work. I later decided to use M& M's which worked really well.
This cake melted some in the sun

Customer wanted a cake to coordinate with partyware from http://www.buycostumes.com/PartyKitDetail.aspx?ProductID=26262&PCatID=partysupplies&ccatid=firstbirthdaykits so this is what I came up with. I had a lot of fun doing this one. Lots of little bugs and detail work. Also did a small coordinating smash cake since this was for a 1st birthday party.

This is the first cake I have ever done for someone I didn't know. I charged $30 for it being that I have never sold any of my cakes. Would love to know what you all think. That is suppose to be a dead roach on top of the cake holding a boquet of flowers.

A cake for my son's 6th birthday. He's always outside looking under rocks to see what he can collect, so this cake is typical of him. Chocolate mud cake with caramel buttercream and MMF. All decorations are MMF, gumpaste or RI.

I made these cakes using a new pan from WS called "Backyard Bug". they were a lot of fun to make, once I got the hang of the detail work! these were just for practice, but I am looking forward to making them again

I went crazy with the fondant/gumpaste. The flowers and wings are gumpaste. The bugs are all fondant. The anthill is just frosting covered in crushed graham crackers (from a pie crust). The eyeballs are sprinkles. The bugs were time consuming but very easy.

This my aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary cake. He has worked on volkswagons for as long as I can remember and is always fixing up a car for a car show. Anyway, notice the little tools, the cowboy hat, the postage stamps (my aunt delivered mail for years). BC icing with gumpaste decs and the VW's are almond bark molded.

I did this cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. Based on a design I saw here by jdogga. Everything is fondant except for the royal icing ladybugs. Much easier than I thought it would be!

This was for my boss's birthday. She has always wanted the green VW Bug . It is marble cake. I used 1-10 inch round cut in half and stacked sideways. I ended up having to make another 10 inch and using only half of it to get the width. The wheels are mini pans ,4 inch. I used buttercream with fondant accents Oreo tires and silver luster dust. You can't see it in the pic but I had made her personalized license plate(lol). I wished I had done it all in fondant. Thanks everyone her for the inspiration!
