I made this cake was for my best friend's work baby shower. We both work at the same company, and we had planned on throwing her a shower until she had baby Sophia 8 weeks early. The baby has been in very serious condition since her birth, but we decided to throw a "faith shower" for her to show her our support and to cheer her up. She came back to work 2 weeks ago, and has been very withdrawn (I would be too!), but we wanted to let her know we were thinking about her.

I had fun doing this order. I was initially asked to do a cake for someone that likes to talk alot on the phone. I was really inspired by some of the other bathtime cakes done on this site so decided to combine both ideas. Cake is - Spiced vanilla madeira with vanilla buttercream & jam.

I know there are 10,000 versions of this out there, but I figured I should try, expand the portfolio a little and give the customer a fun sample cake to boot.

made for a family whose Dad is leaving for Iraq in the morning. So they are having her birthday a couple of days early. I added a wedge pillow tiara cake as a good luck gift. He is all about pink for his girl so I really went all out.

This was made for a Naming Day/Christening celebration for twins. The couple wanted a cake that had absolutely nothing religious about it so no one would be offended. The tub is sculpted pound cake and all accents are fondant/gumpaste mix. Thanks to MrsMissey for the inspiration!

This piece will be in an Art Show called "Art for Other Senses." May 3-24, 2007. It is a yellow cake with fondant, royal icing and gumpaste accents, bubbles and washcloth. The Ivory soap box was based on an antique design. It has color flow tile and logo. Thank you for looking. I have placed a quarter on the lower lefthand size for scale.

This is a Tres Leche Cake with whipped frosting and BC accents. The duck is a plastic toy (for keepsake) and the bonnet is BC. Her nursery theme is pink ducks, so I thought a cake to match would be cute. She loved it!! :)

This is a birthday cake I made for a friend. I do believe "Heifer" is spelled wrong, but this is how they wanted it spelled?? I double-checked...It is all buttercream with pink and brown dots.

Inspired by many here on CC, this is my first bathtub cake. Done for my MIL for Mother's Day and it was so much fun! Everything is edible except the wine glass but the wine inside is colored piping gel, lol. White cake, white buttercream, mmf and mmf accents!

First, thank you to DianeLM~ I saw your cake and thought it was perfect for a client of mine! I hope mine does your design justice!
My version of the cake is covered in MMF with chocolate clay ribbon , bubbles (with edible glitter for the glistening effect), and circles.. The rubber duckie was store bought; everything else was edible!

A woman called and asked for this pretty specifically, then I found lots of siliar pics on here so it might have originated from a Wilton book or something - who knows! Buttercream sheet cake with fondant accents and the bathtub is pound cake.

This is a baby shower cake for one of the teacher's at my children's school. I worked until 11 am this morning, then got the message that they needed the cake by noon! I had originally been told 3 pm. I still had to do the eyes, bath mat, writing and borders! I had wanted to add more details, but didn't have the time.

This is my take on the ever popular baby in a bathtub cake. The customer wanted to incorporate something "Irish" into the bathtub themed cake, so I threw a few shamrocks in the water and around on the ground. Used an 8 & 9 inch pan. Bottom of cake covered in fondant, scored and painted with airbrush & hand painting. And they already know it's a boy so thus the blue towels, boat, etc. Used aine2 directions to make the baby.

Thanks so much Merissa and swillshaz for inspiration and help for this cake.I did this cake for my husbands step sister as her shower gift. This is the first cake like this I have attempted. I am so happy with the way it turned out. I had some difficulties making it but he is so cute it was all worth it. Everyone as the shower loved it so I hope it brings in some business. I really hated seeing this one cut. But it was yummy ;-)
