For my niece's 13th birthday; her only hint as to what she likes was neon colors. Learned a good lesson about putting heavy numbers on AFTER getting to party location, which I will do NEXT time. Everything is MMF iced with all butter buttercream (a batch and a half!); various cake flavors to accommodate everyone.

Chocolate fudge, BC, & fondant. Still VERY much a beginner! Aiming for "neatness" more than difficulty!!!

I made this cake for my sister's 22nd birthday on May 24th. She wanted me to use my large cupcake cake pan, so I did... Just not how she expected! I got this idea from the 2009 Wilton Yearbook, and I was VERY proud of this cake!

Had some frustrations with this...fondant too soft...then too dry....curly cues breaking...but now it is done and I like it. I also learned that everything looks much better on a great plate. :)

Bright colors, a bow and lots and lots of daisies (in Spanish we call them "margaritas")! First time I used the electric green of Americolor and I love it!!
Cakes are all vanilla sponge cakes, filled with SMBC with Cointreau and lots of chopped dried abricots (also soaked in Cointreau), all with additional layers of abricot jam. Covered in fondant and all fondant and gumpaste accents.

All fondant. My future daughter-in-law requested a brightly colored shower
theme. I was worried the cake might be the wrong colors, but it worked out well.

I made this for a high school graduate who wanted a fun, yet sophisticated cake. I used the brown fondant background to both add sophistication and make the colors pop!

My daughters best friend had a doggy themed party and picked out this cake for me to make for her. I hid little M's and 5's in the middle tier =) It's all buttercream, but the doggy prints are fondant and the doggys and big M on top is Fondant. My first attempt at fondant animals. It's all chocolate with vanilla buttercream filling with mini chocolate chips.

Made for 70 year old twins, their daughters just wanted something with flowers, so i based the cake on the board paper. This was a fairly easy cake to make. Had the pearls left over from the last cake I did so I used them too, turns out the twins are known for their love of pearls! Don't ya just love it when that happens :o)

This cake I made for my best friend's oldest daughter's 10th birthday. The birthday girl asked for a pink cake with the number 10 on it. After seeing several pictures of different cakes, I came up with this. Thanks for all the inspiration! This is a butter cake, covered in buttercream icing, with pink and lime green colored choco-pan. TFL!
