This one was fun, but to me it was a lot of work. There was a fishing pole to go with it, but not in the picture.

I had really wanted to try doing this 'wood' look. I used a toothpick to make wood grain then filled it in with food coloring. The cake is just all white with bc in between, the blue and green is mmf, the barrel bath is wilton fondant, bubbles and ferns all bc. Since I am fairly new at this, everyone was totally impressed...including me!

I was asked to do a cake from the cars movie for a friend's 1st birthday. After much internet research I came up empty-handed. I had to look to my own brain for inspiration - Yikes! After I made this cake, I found that Wilton now has a Cars cake pan. These are yellow cakes with Buttercream Icing (althought the road is chocolate Buttercream).

This design came from a Wilton book. I couldn't find the baby angel in my area so I ended up making it with rolled fondant. The pink half circles and uppercase letters are also rolled fondant. the rattles and blocks were store bought. The drop flowers are made of royal icing (since I never could make a nice Buttercream drop flower directly on a cake). The rest of the cake is decorated with Buttercream Icing.

This is made by stacking (2) 12" x 18" yellow cake layers. I used all Buttercream Icing. For the lake I made blue B/C icing and spread some corn syrup over it to make it shiny. This is how the cake looked when it was picked up. They added a few more motorcycles on the road upon arriving at the party. This pic is a from a test to make sure the motorcycles would stand up.

Used the Wilton recipe for Baby Shower Cookies and Icing. This was the toughest project I'd done and will never follow a Wilton recipe again! I've made cookies since with Antonia74's recipe with so much more success and a lot less frustration!

An 11x15x2 cake was cut in half and stacked. Filling is 2 layers of pineapple and one of sliced, fresh bananas with the cake being strawberry. Iced w/buttercream; airbrushed. Everything on the cake is edible (foil-covered choco coins; fondant pearls etc) except for the lid and a couple of pearl strands.

I made this cake for my cousin's little boy who was turning two. Her son is infatuated with farms, John Deere tractors and holstein cows in particular, as my uncle owns a dairy farm. It was a last minute request so the local dollar store was able to help out with the farm themed props. Half vanilla, half chocolate cake iced with buttercream. The lane is graham wafer crumbs. Guests thought the 'grass' was really fun. Thanks for looking.

Cut from a 12x18 sheet cake. Iced with buttercream. Decorations are made from mostly fondant. Knobs are molded white chocolate (from the lid of a tip case), the strings are spaghetti. Whammy bar is a long popsicle stick and the only inedible thing on the cake. Thanks to everyone on this site for all of their great pictures. I looked over them, got a lot of great ideas and then went to town with a picture of the guitar from the client.

Got the idea from here, saw several that were great. I wanted to try basketweave - my first attempt! Nursery colors were navy, lime, and light blue. All BC, baby's head is bc smoothed w/ cornstarch before adding eyes, flower centers are navy blue - only place I could think to use it w/out making the cake too dark!

A friend's son was having a "Fantastic 4" birthday party. I never even knew what that was and soon learned it was a comic and a movie. So I did some research and found a few pictures. Then I found that the birthday boy wanted the cake to be "The Thing" and so this is what I came up with.
